The Pope’s Illogic:

Quote: The 80-year-old Pope said the world needed to care for the environment but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind.

(He is instructing you like an authority precisely what to do and just how much)

It is farfetched to think we are anywhere near putting the welfare of animals and plants on par let alone above human welfare. Why are animals and plants vanishing in record numbers and record time if we are such wonderful guardians for them? Animals and plants are severely downtrodden and that is a key cause of potential future biosphere instability. Few if any scientists are fighting for animal and plant welfare but they are more concerned about catastrophe wrought upon the earth by the unabated pumping of CO2 into the atmosphere warming the earth, with the unprecedented rapid speed and number of species going extinct a separate but equally important consideration regarding the viability of the earth.

What the pope said may sound nice to emotional ears but it makes no sense at all.

YOU MAY BE RIGHT THAT ANIMALS AND PLANTS MEAN LITTLE OR NOTHING, ARE DIRT OR JUST THERE FOR YOU TO USE AND EXPLOIT OR THEY MAY BE CRITICAL TO THE WELBEING OF THE BIOSPHERE ON EARTH (EVEN MORE THAN HUMANS WHO ARE A CURSE OR VERITABLE PARASITE THAN A BOON TO THE EARTH) AND ANIMALS HAVE LIVES THAT ARE JUST AS VALID AS YOURS AND YOU CAN BECOME AN ANIMAL IN ETERNAL HABITATIONS DESCRIBED BY JESUS AND IF THE LATTER IS THE CASE YOU HAVE WRONG VIEW THAT ACCORDING TO THE BUDDHA LED TO HELL OR THE ANIMAL WOMB.

Quote: The leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering.

It may be true they are scaremongering but the truth may even be worse than what this scaremongering paints and if you call it scare mongering and it turns out more correct than your view then you have wrong view that is not without consequence but even deadly consequence. Tell God, “Sorry, how was I to know my view was wrong?” If you don’t know then you should not stick your neck out to make opinions that also influence others. If you do not know then you should adopt the position ‘better safe than sorry’ rather than dismiss it as scaremongering and keep acting the way you are.

Is Jesus scaremongering when he painted a disaster scenario of the close of the Age when there will be earthquakes in many places, famine, nations will turn against nations, the sun and moon not shining? Or is Jesus speaking of a time conveniently in the future well after you depart from this world that has nothing to do with the systemic and relentless destruction of the earth by mankind?

Jesus said ‘the hour is coming’ and the kingdom of God is at hand, so the close of the Age is not far away after his departure and so even if you are not certain, you will not dismiss as impossible that mankind’s continued pillage will lead to suffering never seen since the foundation of the earth and the ruler of this world (you) will be judged.

YOUR BODY HAS A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE (37 DEGREE CENTIGRADE) THAT IT IS UNIVERSALLY CRITICAL TO MAINTAIN OTHERWISE NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE THE SAME NARROW BODY TEMPERATURE RANGE. IF SOMEONE WERE TO RELENTLESSLY RAISE YOUR BODY TEMPERATURE (EG TO 45 DEG CENTIGRADE) FOR A SUSTAINED PERIOD, IT IS CERTAIN YOU WILL DIE BECAUSE YOUR BODY (PROTEINS AND CHEMICAL PROCESSES) IS NOT DESIGNED TO FUNCTION ABOVE A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE.

IN THE SAME WAY, IT IS OBJECTIVELY PROVEN THAT THE EARTH’S BODY TEMPERATURE IS RISING INEXORABLY NOT BY MAGIC BUT BECAUSE OF THE RISING GREENHOUSE GASES THAT HUMAN ACTIVITIES PUMP INTO THE AIR AND IT IS LIKELY IF NOT CERTAIN THE EARTH CANNOT SUSTAIN INDEFINITE RISES IN ITS BODY TEMPERATURE AND WILL SOON REACH A POINT OF INSTABILITY AND THEN IT WILL DIE JUST AS YOU WILL DIE IF I KEEP RAISING YOUR BODY TEMPERATURE. WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH THE PRIMACY OF HUMAN RIGHTS OVER ANIMAL AND PLANT RIGHTS THAT THE POPE WANTS US TO CONSIDER REGARDING GLOBAL WARNING? INSTEAD IT IS PRECISELY BECAUSE MANKIND HAS IGNORED AND RUN ROUGHSHOD OVER THE RIGHTS OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS THAT HE IS NOW FACED WITH THIS PREDICAMENT OF GLOBAL WARMING THAT THREATENS HIS VERY OWN SURVIVAL EVEN IF HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMAL OR PLANT SURVIVAL.

THE POPE CAN CHAMPION ALL THE HUMAN RIGHTS OVER ANIMAL AND PLANT RIGHTS THAT HE WANTS BUT SO LONG AS HUMAN ACTIVITIES ARE RAISING THE GLOBAL TEMPERATURE AND THE EARTH HAS FINITE NOT LIMITLESS TOLERANCE FOR TEMPERATURE RISES BEFORE IT DEVELOPS A FATAL FEVER, THEN YOU ARE SOWING THE SEEDS OF YOUR AND THE EARTH’S FUTURE DEMISE BY CONTINUING TO HEEDLESSLY RAISE THE EARTH’S TEMPERATURE.

SINCE WHEN HAVE HUMANS SHOWN ANY MEANINGFUL CONCERTED CONSIDERATION FOR ANIMAL AND PLANT WELFARE?

CONCERN ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE IS NOT ABOUT PROMOTING ANIMAL AND PLANT RIGHTS OVER HUMAN RIGHTS. FEW IF ANY SCIENTISTS ARE CLAMORING FOR ANIMAL AND PLANT RIGHTS OVER HUMAN RIGHTS.

INSTEAD, GLOBAL WARMING IS ABOUT CONCERN OVER WHAT MANKIND IS DOING TO THE EARTH, SPECIFICALLY THE HEEDLESS ESCALATING PUMPING OF CO2 INTO ATMOSPHERE RAISING TEMPERATURES THAT MAY DESTABILIZE AND POTENTIALLY DESTROY THE ENTIRE BIOSPHERE THAT INCLUDES MANKIND, ABOUT THE CRASS OVERCONSUMPTION THAT GENERATES TOXIC & INDIGESTIBLE WASTES AT VOLUMES THE EARTH CANNOT COPE WITH, THE CONTINUED DESTRUCTION OF PLANTS AND ANIMALS THAT REDUCES BIODIVERSITY THAT MAY BE CRUCIAL TO THE VIABILITY OF THE BIOSPHERE.

THUS THE POPE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT AND WHAT HE SAYS ONLY SERVE TO CONFUSE AND MISLEAD THOSE WHO WORSHIP HIM.

IT MAY WELL BE THAT THE EARTH IS UNCOMPLAINING AND WILL CONTINUE TO ABSORB THE ABUSE MANKIND IS METING TO IT OR IT MAY BE THAT MANKIND IS DRIVING THE BIOSYSTEM TO A CLIFF DOWN WHICH THE EARTH WITH MANKIND WILL DISASTROUSLY PLUNGE AND IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN THE POPE IS IRRESPONSIBLE IN NOT ADVISING PEOPLE TO BE SAFE NOW RATHER THAN SORRY LATER.

It is wrong view that the false inappropriate logic that the pope displayed here is just an isolated blemish and his logic or reasoning is otherwise intact or good but the truth is that his false logic as demonstrated here reflects a fundamental faultiness in his reasoning that is rigid and rule bound that although it may appear to be appropriate to the situation in other instances it is an illusion imperceptible to undiscerning people and his logic is always rehashed false to be applied to the situation.

A person who is devoted to the truth will not say anything he does not understand is sensible and it is impossible for him to issue this statement that the pope has issued that human rights take precedent over animal and plant rights because it is incomprehensible and inappropriate to the issue at hand, namely global warming caused by mankind’s relentless raising the level of greenhouse gases that potentially may fatally compromise the earth’s capacity to further support life. What is the use of advocating the supremacy of human rights over animal and plant life if it is true that mankind is relentlessly raising the levels of greenhouse gases that will fatally destabilise the earth to the harm of all life here including mankind’s?

This statement that the pope has issued reflects that he has no understanding of the issue at hand and yet he deems fit to make a comment and the only way this is possible is that his perception of the issue here as everywhere is faulty even false and his reasoning and conclusions he makes, here as everywhere else is rule bound and rigid, they only appear appropriate to foolish people who are themselves robots but everywhere else, the pope’s logic can be demonstrated to be rigid, rule bound and didactic or patronizing.

WHOEVER BELIEVES (ACCEPTS AS TRUE) WHAT THE POPE SAID THAT HUMAN RIGHTS HAS PRIMACY OVER ANIMAL AND PLANT RIGHTS, WHETHER HIMSELF OR YOU IS HEADED FOR MADNESS BECAUSE IT IS FALSE AND DOES NOT APPLY TO THE CRISIS OF GLOBAL WARMING FACING MANKIND.

THE BUDDHA SAID THAT YOU HAVE HAD YOUR HEADS CUT AND YOUR BLOOD SPILLED GREATER THAN THE FOUR GREAT OCEANS EXISTING AS ANIMALS SUCH AS GOATS, CATTLE, CHICKEN AND SO IT IS WRONG VIEW THAT LEADS TO HELL AND THE ANIMAL WOMB TO ADVOCATE HUMAN RIGHTS ABOVE ANIMAL RIGHTS.

Quote: In October, the Australian Cardinal George Pell, the Archbishop of Sydney, caused an outcry when he noted that the atmospheric temperature of Mars had risen by 0.5 degrees celsius.

"The industrial-military complex up on Mars can't be blamed for that," he said in a criticism of Australian scientists who had claimed that carbon emissions would force temperatures on earth to rise by almost five degrees by 2070 unless drastic solutions were enforced.

Comment: He is sarcastic and therefore cannot mean what he said but the opposite and is therefore a hypocrite. Obviously there is no industrial military complex on Mars and it therefore has nothing to do with Mar’s temperature rise but if you think you can make the same inference on earth, you are flirting with future insanity. The reason he says it is because he has strong self identity views with the establishments on earth & he is derisive. He may be right he is on the side of God but he may not realize there is an eternity of suffering awaiting him and yet here is a man who is supposed to be a spiritual leader of Christians.

The fool is smug (an emotion that has nothing to do with reason) in his riposte thinking he has proven his point and slapped his enemy when he is putting his head unnecessarily on the chopper board.

RULES LOGIC:

All stylish emotional people have prefabricated answers and reasoning stored in their minds that they rehash for the situation at hand and if the reply appears to fit the situation at hand or the people who receive it are themselves somnolent it appears that the reasoning and answers are specific to the occasion but even in those situations where people accept what is said to them without question, the discerning person can see and know it is not genuine reasoning but rote ruled reasoning.

For instance ‘the world needed to care for the environment but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind’ is a rehashed rule bound answer that is inappropriate to the situation it was applied to based on the rule or format answer ‘the ___ needed to ___ for ___ but not to the point where the ___ of ____ was given a greater priority than that of ___’. Just fill in the blanks and you have what may be an impressive answer for a situation.

Stylish people never examine all factors of a current situation (too much trouble and they have never done it before) but they just take snapshots that may misrepresent the situation and consult their mental dictionary or jukebox for explanations and having found an explanation they think is apt, they dish it out by filling the blanks that is appropriate to this case.

Not as simple as you may think:

Those who think that all mankind has to do is cut down pollution and emissions may be foolish.

It seems the rise of more clean burning cars (catalytic converters and full injection) may worsen global warming than ameliorate it because the smog caused by soot in the air actually shields the earth from the sun’s rays and should the smog lift, the penetration of the sun’s rays increases and hence global warming is worst.

As another example, misguided humans hatched leatherback turtle eggs at a certain temperature not realizing that the sex of turtles are determined by the temperature of brooding and thus rather than saving the leatherbacks they might condemn them to earlier extinction because if the turtles are all females, they cannot mate.

THUS WHATEVER MANKIND DOES HE MAY BE DAMNED AND RECTIFYING PAST ABUSES IS NOT AS SIMPLE AS YOU THINK AND THE EARTH MAY HAVE WELL PASSED THE POINT OF NO RETURN.

Nice & nonsensical:

Only if consideration for animal and plants welfare are currently on par and in danger of surpassing consideration for human welfare is the pope right to some extent to state that ‘the world needed to care for the environment but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind’

If consideration for animal and plant welfare severely lags consideration for human welfare and has no hope of achieving parity with human considerations and few if any scientists are clamouring for an upgrade of consideration for their welfare, what is the pope talking about?

Since the scenario does not apply he should just say “the world needs to care for the environment” and the rider ‘but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind’ makes no sense or is nonsense or just for show.

If he believed it was nonsense he would not have said it. It is precisely because the rider makes no sense but he and ilk minded readers perceives it as sensible that they are flirting with future madness.

What is said (that the world needs to show concern for the environment) is in platitude, in niceness because there is a caveat attached to it that is clearly inapplicable.

Why mankind is a curse to the earth:

Name me one animal or plant or microbe that may be responsible for potentially destroying the earth by pumping CO2 into the air, polluting it with wastes and toxic chemicals and causing so many animals and plants to go extinct.

If mankind is doing this and no other plant or animal is similarly responsible, rather than a boon, mankind is a bane or parasite to the earth.

Expressing his reservation:

By adding the rider ‘‘but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind’, the pope’s intention is to express his reservations or detract from what he initially said and that is to contradict what he said.

The foolish emotional person who is aligned with the pope will say “but he has already said you must be concerned with the environment” so why am I ‘jumping on him’ but what he subsequently said BELIED what he said earlier and renders it tainted if not hypocritical.

Expressing reservations is to render what you said dishonest:

If you examine carefully everything the Buddha and Jesus are known to have said, you may not find any reservations or riders to what they earlier said that renders it inoperable. If animal considerations are higher than humans’ then according to the pope you should not show consideration for the environment.

By expressing reservations you are stating what you said earlier is not wholehearted but half hearted and you do not fully mean what you said and you are partly if not totally a hypocrite.

You must not have reservations:

If what you say is the truth, you mean what you say, you must not attach reservations that always render what you said inoperable and is therefore false.

It does not matter whether human or animal or plant considerations take precedent but if you have genuine concern for the environment it will always be so and must always be so.

ONLY WHAT IS FALSE OR DID NOT HAPPEN CAN HAVE RESERVATIONS OR COME WITH RESERVATIONS. WHATEVER IS TRUE IS TRUE BY ITSELF AND COMES WITHOUT ANY RESERVATIONS. IF YOU TRULY LOVE ANOTHER PERSON IT NEVER COMES WITH ANY RESERVATIONS OR PROVISOS EG THAT IT IS REQUITTED OR HE LISTENS TO YOU OR TAKE YOU ON A TRIP, ETC.

IT IS BECAUSE ALL ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE GUILTY OF APPLYING RESERVATIONS TO MANY THINGS THEY SAY OR THEY ARE EMPHATICALLY OR WITH FORCE SAY WITHOUT RESERVATION THAT THEY SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH EXPRESSING RESERVATIONS WHEN THE RESERVATIONS NEGATE WHAT YOU SAID EARLIER.

Why the pope may be expressing reservations:

There is public awareness and concern about environmental issues so the church and the pope must at least be seen to be interested and define its position on the issue and it is a no brainer that the church should at least in some way be seen support the environmental cause because religion is about caring for each other and the extension of that caring is caring for the earth.

On the other hand, the pope may not be very knowledgeable about environmental issues, what fascinate him may be scholarly or ecclesiastical matters, he may underestimate that things can suddenly go bad, despite environmental changes everything seems fine and surely will continue to be fine and he may have a dislike for those at the forefront of the environmental cause or have disdain even for science itself.

THUS THE FIRST PART OF HIS STATEMENT THAT WE SHOULD HAVE ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS IS MERELY A RELUCTANT CONCESSION OR TO BE SEEN TO ACT FALSITY OR NICETY WHILST HIS RESERVATIONS REFLECTS HIS INDIFFERENCE AND EVEN DISMISSAL OF THE DANGERS ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES POSE.

Will the Buddha express reservations about what he said that singing is crying and dancing is insanity in the teaching of the noble ones? Whether you like it or not, that is what he is telling you. Just you don’t like or find incredible the description by Jesus about the calamity at the close of the Age does not mean he will amend himself or have reservations about what he said.

THUS ALL RESERVATIONS ARE FALSE AND RENDER WHAT WAS STATED INITIALLY NOT WHOLEHEARTED BUT HYPOCRITICAL.

WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, I WILL NOT ALTER ONE WORD I SAY THAT THERE IS CONSTANT USE OF FORCE TO STRETCH, CHANGE SPEED AND LOUDNESS IN THE VOCALIZATIONS OF ALL BEINGS HERE AND THAT IS THE ROOT TO THE STRESS, RESTLESSNESS AND DISTRACTION THAT MUST REGULARLY BESET THEM AND WILL KILL THEM OR SEND THEM TO INSANITY. IF YOU MUST PROLONG YOU MUST FEEL SAD THAT LEADS TO DEPRESSION. IF YOU MUST ACCELERATE IN SPEED AND LOUDNESS WHEN SPEAKING YOU MUST FEEL HURT BY WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU THAT YOU DISLIKE OR DOES NOT APPEASE YOUR LIKE.
Reservation is going back on what you said:

Reservation is going back on what you say and that is rendering what you said false and generating doubt and uncertainty that is a fetter to future woe.

Did the Buddha say that dancing is insanity only if you overdo it or did it in a certain way or it is decadent or not classical dancing or ballet? Thus there are no reservations in what the Buddha said and he meant what he said, like it or not. If you flout, you are taking a bet against him and will find the result later.

Reservations as a rote way of speaking:

Reflecting that what they say (that are derivatives of their thoughts and also reflect their thoughts) is not fresh specific for the occasion but standardized, because stylish people have learnt to speak so well with reservations or couched terms, it is now involuntary, unconscious, they cannot help inserting reservations to whatever they say.

THUS AN IMPORTANT REASON WHY THE POPE EXPRESSED RESERVATIONS IN THIS CASE OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN IS BECAUSE RESERVATION IS INGRAINED IN HIM AS IN ALL ORDINARY PEOPLE, RESERVATION IS BASED ON FORCE NOT REASON AND PEOPLE WITH RESERVATIONS ARE INCREASINGLY DRIVEN BY HABIT TO ALWAYS SPEAK WITH RESERVATIONS THAT WILL END IN INSANITY.

Speaking with reservation as an impressive style:

Because it is the foolish perception of human society that the person who expresses reservation appears a thoughtful or intellectual person or person of substance, in the name of impressing others, people have learnt to express as much reservations as frequently as possible in whatever matters they are invited upon to contribute their comments.

Speaking with reservations is addictive just like alcoholism, drinking or speaking humorously or trying to make everything seem funny and so in time the person becomes obsessed with finding reservations in whatever matters he gives thoughts to.

Sometimes his reservations fit quite well into the issue and fools people to think they are genuine, at times perhaps in haste their reservations are inappropriate and then their generalized across board nature becomes more evident.

Many people have little genuine interest in many matters yet they feel compelled to make comments and in order to impress, since the matter mean little to them, they must sprinkle in some reservations to impress that they have given much thought to the subject when they don’t care much.

“Yes, but” or ‘sure, but’ is a stance that is adopted by many and is a form of speaking with reservations.

Not everyone is interested in environmental issues and some people may be cloistered in their ivory towers detached from the real world but they may feel compelled to comment on matters that do not really interest them and sometimes they put a foot in their mouths without themselves and most listeners being aware.

Nazi Ideology Than Christian Love:

The pope was a member of Hitler Youth but he claimed he was coerced and he has reformed himself yet it may be or is that he still consciously or unconsciously subscribe to Nazi ideology. It is not without reason that he is branded God’s Rotweiller.

What the pope is saying is that when it comes to the crunch, the wellbeing and thus survival of him and that of fellow humans take precedent over animal and plant wellbeing and survival.

This sound in keeping with the Nazi ideology that ‘better I survive and you should die than I should die and you survive’ rather than Christian love that you should lay down your life for others, ‘better I die than you should suffer or perish’, better I take your place on the cross than you should suffer on the cross.

Thus herein may be another reason for what the pope said. He is inadvertently revealing his continued subscription to Nazi ideology and what he said merely reflects his predilections.

It is the plants and animals that keep the earth’s biosphere in balance and it is truculent man’s avarice and tampering that destabilized it and therefore it would be better from the earth’s point of view that mankind should perish and the plants and animals should survive.

IF YOUR CONCERN FOR THE EARTH OR ENVIRONMENT IS GENUINE THEN IT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER HUMAN OR ANIMAL AND PLANT WELLBEING TAKES PRECEDENT. IF YOUR CONCERN FOR THE EARTH IS HYPOCRITICAL THEN, WHEN IT COMES TO THE CRUNCH, YOUR OWN AND THAT OF YOUR KIND’S WELLBEING TAKE PRECEDENT OVER THAT OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS, AND EVEN THE EARTH’S WELLBEING. THE FOOL THINKS HE CAN EVEN SURVIVE WITHOUT THE EARTH AND SO IF IT IS MATTER OF WHETHER HE SURVIVES OR THE EARTH SURVIVES THEN BETTER THE EARTH PERISH AND HE SURVIVES.

THUS IN SAYING SO, THE POPE IS DEMONSTRATING THAT HIS CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IS HYPOCRITICAL, IS SELF CENTERED, REVOLVES AROUND PRESERVING HIS AND HUMAN WELLBEING HERE RATHER THAN GENUINE UNCONDITIONAL CARE FOR THE EARTH.

ALL RESERVATIONS RENDER WHAT WAS SAID PREVIOUSLY FALSE AND THERE ARE NEVER TRUE REASON FOR INSERTING RESERVATIONS IN WHATEVER YOU SAY BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS CONTRADICT WHAT YOU SAY EARLIER AND RENDER IT FALSE.

In the past people took baskets along to go shopping, nowadays people not just use plastic bags provided by vendors but they use more bags than necessary as when I shop in Tesco and they put items in another bag when the previous bag is not even filled.

In the past nobody had fans now many have air conditioners not just in the bedrooms but even living rooms, they drive to their local store at the drop of the hat.

You have to ask yourself whether every tree you chop down and every animal you kill for food is even remotely necessary or it is for adornment, frivolously, so that you can live an unnecessary luxurious life here or even senseless, people hunt for fun (not because they are desperate for food) and chop trees down for no apparent reason to ‘let off steam’.

Before you eliminate all these excesses or wasteful senseless consumption you are a fool and hypocrite to talk about caring for the environment but not to the extent of animal and plant welfare taking precedent over human welfare as if this scenario is even remotely possible.

Thinking is a trap not palace:

People think that thinking is good, unavoidable when thinking is unnecessary suffering and a trap detaining the being in the lower realms and suffering.

People who are self centred and conceited are fascinated by ideas & concepts, both theirs and others, they are addicted to thinking, identify with their thinking not realizing it is false, impermanent, a trap and suffering.

The Buddha taught that it is possible to exist without thinking and it is a higher form of existence that accords the being who can exist without thinking by just seeing everything and then doing or not doing even two eons in heavenly bliss.

YOU HAVE WRONG VIEW IF YOU THINK THAT THINKING IS NECESSARY, UNAVOIDABLE AND GOOD. IF YOU SEE AND HEAR EVERYTHING THEN YOU DO NOT NEED TO THINK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. Breeders are prepared to spend vast sums on trusted stallions

The offspring of expensive stallions owe their success more to how they are reared, trained and ridden than good genes, a study has found.

Only 10% of a horse's lifetime winnings can be attributed to their bloodline, research in Biology Letters shows.

Edinburgh scientists compared the stud fees, winnings and earnings of more than 4,000 racehorses since 1922.

They found that the vast sums breeders are prepared to pay for top stallions do not guarantee the best genes.

The research was carried out by evolutionary biologists Alastair Wilson and Andrew Rambaut at the University of Edinburgh.

They found that while there was genetic variance in the quality of stallions at stud, this was not reflected in the size of the horse's stud fee.

"It seems much more likely that people who can afford to pay high stud fees can also afford to manage and train their horses well."

The offspring of expensive stallions did tend to win more over their lifetime, he said, but genes played only a small role.

By far the biggest factor was the horse's environment - the way they were trained, the choice of races entered and which jockeys were employed, Dr Wilson added.

The findings may have parallels in the natural world, he added, in how signals of male genetic quality - such as the size and shape of a peacock's tail - are used by females to select a mate.

In this context, where the breeder was selecting the horse, fees paid for a stallion were not an honest signal of genetic quality, the researchers said.

It is unusual that there have been a series of earthquakes in the Main range of Malaysia from Nov 11 when an earthquake of 3.9 magnitude struck. There are hot springs in peninsula Malaysia that suggests that volcanism may not be completely absent in Malaysia. Whether the earthquakes portent unusual seismic activity is another thing.

Quake just a minor one, says Kong

PETALING JAYA: There is no reason to worry over the rare but minor earthquake that occurred in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, as the tremors are weakening by the day, said experts.

The tremors, which first measured 3.9 on the Richter scale on Nov 30, had weakened to 3.0 on Wednesday and to 2.7 on Thursday.

Deputy Science, Technology and Innovations Minister Datuk Kong Cho Ha said that the tremors were very small and weak ones and generally not felt.

The low-magnitude earthquake will not cause loss of lives or property damage.

“There is no cause for worry. We have six seismic stations in the peninsula that pick up tremors when an earthquake happens,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.

The six stations in the peninsula are in Kulim, Ipoh, Kepong, Kluang, Kota Tinggi and Kuala Terengganu.

Another five are located in Sabah and three more in Sarawak.

Meteorological Services Department director-general Dr Yap Kok Seng said there was a very old fault line near Bukit Tinggi that had been dormant for more than 1.6 million years.

On why the tremors occurred although the faultline had been dormant for a long time, Yap said that it could be due to the consolidation of the whole system since the major Aceh earthquake in 2004.

The peninsula had never experienced an earthquake before or even after the Aceh earthquake until the Bukit Tinggi tremor, he said.

“The tremor was caused by a slight movement of the plate but it has since stabilised,” Kong added.

“There is some minor adjustment because it's slightly stressed up but there is nothing to be worried about,” he said.

He said it was unlikely for Malaysia to face major earthquakes as it was situated far away from the active tectonic plates concentrated in Indonesia.

The Muslim community is now closely observing the actions of the movers and shakers (he did not invent this phrase but he heard it, liked it copied it without understanding what it means to impress others) of Hindraf, a small group of Hindus who are about on creating chaos in the country whilst maintaining the parade of championing racial and religious sentiments. In fighting for and defending the construction of Hindu temples, they have forsaken all sense of decency towards the others races in this country. What is the measure of their decency when they falsely allege that the government massacred 100 Indians during Kampung Medan incident in the year 2000?

Whilst keeping an eye on the antics of this group, the country was shocked when Anwar Ibrahim approached them from behind and delivered a speech motivating the 1500 odd Hindraf supporters who were congregating in front of the Kelang court house on 26 November 2007. Anwar urged them to continue with their struggle in defending their religion and the temple issue. That is Anwar, always striking while the iron is hot.

Likewise, during the Bersih street demonstration of 10 November 2007, Anwar made hay while the sun shone by making an appearance at the rally, when the coast was already clear and took over the lead in the handover of the memorandum to palace officials. That made the other opposition leaders look idiotic. They slugged hard, braved the rain and skirmished with the authorities. In the end, Anwar enjoyed the fruits of their labour, while they must be content with only the skin of those fruits.

That is Anwar! A politically-bankrupt ex-leader who favours “rear entry” to whatever circumstance he finds himself in. Weekly, in the “back” ground, he meets with the Jews and reviles the government, accusing them of being responsible for the economic downturn of the country, among other things.

NO ONE ENJOYS HIMSELF HERE, NO MATTER HOW WEALTHY, REPLETE WITH SENSATE PLEASURES AND FAME, BUT THEY HIDE THEIR MIND WARPING TORMENT AND ARE ALL HEADED EVEN FOR ANOTHER ETERNITY OF PERDITION AS A RESULT OF THEIR SINS WHICH IS WHY THE BUDDHA SAID YOU HAVE FOOLISHLY SHED YOUR OWN BLOOD FROM HAVING YOUR HEAD CHOPPED GREATER THAN THE FOUR GREAT OCEANS.

New licences for new year

WITH immediate effect, all hair salons, beauty centres, massage parlours and cyber cafes in Petaling Jaya will have to make fresh applications for licences if they want to continue operations next year.

the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) now requires the operators to submit completely fresh applications, accompanied by deposits of between RM1,000 and RM10,000. This means that building renovation plans must also be attached to the applications.

Another new requirement is the compulsory registration of customers of their names, identity card numbers, nationality and addresses. The records must be available for inspection by council officers at any time.

Foolishness and wickedness:

BEINGS HAVE A NATURE AND IT IS THE NATURE OF BEINGS HERE THAT THEY ARE FOOLISH AND OR WICKED. FOOLISHNESS AND WICKEDNESS ARE HARD TO ELIMINATE BECAUSE THEY ARE BASED ON FORCE THAT IS BLIND, NOT AMENABLE TO REASON AND CONDITIONS THEM INCREASINGLY TO FOOLISHNESS AND WICKEDNESS AND EVERYWHERE THEY ARE SURROUNDED BY OTHER BEINGS INCLUDING ANIMALS THAT BOMBARD THEM WITH FORCEFUL CHANGES THAT MAINTAIN THEM IN FOOLISHNESS AND WICKEDNESS.

WICKEDNESS IS AN URGE AND DELIGHT IN WILFULLY HARMING OTHERS EITHER BECAUSE THEY DO NOT REALIZE THEY WILL BE PUNISHED EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SUFFERING AS THEY MAKE OTHERS SUFFER OR THEY JUST DON’T GIVE A DAMN. MANY BEINGS HERE DO NOT HARBOR THIS URGE BUT THEY ARE FOOLISH AND DELUDED THAT WHAT THEY SAY OR DO (STYLE, SMILING, EXPRESSING, JOKING, SAYING & DOING NICE THINGS) ARE TRUE AND GOOD.

THE OPPOSITE OF FOOLISHNESS AND WICKEDNESS IS DISCERNMENT, WISDOM AND GOODWILL AND THEY ARE THE PATHWAY OUT OF SUFFERING AND ULTIMATE INSANITY TO ETERNAL BLISS.

There are two related aspects or characteristics of beings trapped here that are hard, almost impossible to eliminate because they are based on force that is blind and not amenable to reason, conditions them increasingly to them and they are coerced or imposed mercilessly, relentlessly by others on them, even those who in delusion believe they represent good.
It is a being’s forcefulness and concomitant deficiency in reason that gives rise to his foolishness and wickedness.

Wickedness is a desire and pleasure in seeing and making others suffer and there are many beings here who openly or in a disguised manner are thrilled to see and make others suffer. They may hide their smiles at your misery or they may smile as if they are your friend when they know what they do will hurt you.

Foolishness is a vulnerability and acceptance of falsity, they are gullible, can be tricked by others and in addition they are attracted to (you need force for attraction) and believe in falsity that of course they deny but insist (again with force) is true.

There are beings who are more wicked than foolish, it is their wickedness that drives their actions and there are beings who are more foolish than wicked, by nature they are not wicked but because they are foolish, they think their actions and speech benefit themselves and others when it is the opposite.

Enforcement: On top of their foolishness and wickedness that is not amenable to reason because it is blind, driven by force that is conditioning and they are subservient, there is total enforcement of their foolishness and wickedness. Everywhere they turn to, including those who are supposed to be good, they are confronted by people who practice style, whose styles provoke their mental forces to similarly prolong, change speed and strength in resonance, who encourage and maintain them in their foolishness and wickedness. If there are some examples of genuine virtuous behaviour at least they have some models to base alternative behaviour but everywhere they turn to, they are confronted by behaviour that stresses, makes them restless and distracted seizing them to similarly adopt a stressful false wicked style.
No one sees and knows falsity but they all use force to accept or believe falsity is true.

No one sees and knows the lies he tells is true but he uses force to tell his lies, he uses force to fake as well as he can his lies are true so that others will believe it and as a result, he increasingly sees or accepts his lies are true.

No one uses reason and knowing to believe what they are told that they did not see or know as true is true but they use force to accept or believe what they did not see or know as true (in the name of pleasing, impressing other) is true. The wise will believe or accept as true as little as he can what he did not see or know as true from others, and then only guided by reason. The foolish are ever ready to accept as true or believe all and sundry what he is told by others as true and as a result his mind is cluttered by many beliefs he has come to accept as true, even indelibly so and he is headed for torment and conflict because many of his beliefs are contradictory.

Thus there are many beings here who are not by nature wicked but they are foolish, they readily accept falsity, they see their styles, their smiles, expressions and jokes as meaningful when they are false and harmful to themselves and others. They say or do many things to please and impress others and believe they are true and benefiting others. There are many who are deluded and fervently so, even after they have been told they nevertheless perceive their styles, smiles, expressions, jokes and nice things they say or do are good (partly because everyone else tells them it is good). There are many who cannot see they have style, cannot see they are stretching syllables, changing speed and loudness and they are blind. They do not go out of the way to hurt or persecute others but they believe in delusion they are being good to others and themselves.

That the Buddha said that there are countless aeons each lasting billions of years, enough time for you to create a pile of skeleton as high as a mountain and you have shed your own blood greater than all the four great oceans and yet you are here reflects that foolishness (delusion) and wickedness is hard to eliminate in those who are sons of darkness.

An excuse and shirking responsibility:

You often hear people say ‘how would I know it was false and it would lead to this?’ and accepting it as a statement of truth not realizing that is always false, an excuse and shirking responsibility for what has happened.

Often the person knows what he accepted as true or what he said or did was false or detrimental or risky but he decided to go ahead because of selfish considerations and therefore what he says is a lie to want you to exonerate him.

Even if they bona fide did not know then, you are not blameless but blameworthy. If you saw and knew it as true then it is impossible that you now did not know it was not true then, it is because you did not know or see as true then but you nevertheless use force to accept it as true that what is negative that has occurred happened.

IF YOU DO NOT SEE OR KNOW SOMETHING AS TRUE OR HAPPENED THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BELIEVE, SAY OR DO IT. IF YOU BELIEVE, SAY OR DO SOMETHING WITHOUT SEEING OR KNOWING IT IS TRUE THEN YOU ARE TO BE BLAMED FOR WHAT HAS HAPPENED AS A RESULT. IN REALITY, PEOPLE HAVE A GOOD OR REASONABLE IDEA THAT WHAT THEY BELIEVED, SAID OR DID IS FALSE OR HARMFUL BUT THEY WENT AHEAD FOR GREEDY CONCERNS AND THEY ARE TELLING A LIE OR OFFERING AN EXCUSE WHEN THEY SAY, “I DID NOT KNOW”, OFTEN ANGRILY AS IF THEY ARE JUSTIFIED NOT REALIZING THEY ARE (FOOLISHLY) COMPOUNDING THEIR SIN ASKING FOR BIGGER PUNISHMENT.

Why you must be devoted to truth:

Truth is simply what did happen or can happen.

Falsity is simply what did not happen or cannot happen.

If you are devoted to or dedicated to what did not happen or cannot happen, is it any surprise that you will finally go mad?

The reason why you are not mad yet is because you are walking on the tightrope of reality testing, you are only forcing yourself to believe in falsity to get what you want from existence but something is holding you back, your healthy cynicism or disbelief in everything or not quite totally believing everything is holding you back, but your foolish wish will be granted, if you keep telling lies and believing what did not happen and cannot happen is true then one day you can no longer turn back from the brink but must plunge down the abyss to totally, helplessly believe what did not happen, cannot happen is true.

Why people are not mad yet:

Objectively there is serious falsity in all emotional, liking and disliking stylish ordinary people.

Why are they not mad yet?

The prime reason is that they are actually sophisticated robots programmed to carry out blindly by force what they perceive, think, say or do without need for understanding why from their mental jukeboxes and because what they have programmed themselves with or are copied have adequate survival value, they will survive so long as their mental jukebox does not seriously malfunction and cue in some fatal instruction like overtake a lorry when it is suicidal to do so but their emotion will not have it otherwise.

A secondary reason is because they still have reasonable sanity preserved in areas that are essential for them to survive. They are seriously deluded even mad in some areas but they are still able to eat, drink, dress themselves and perform their menial jobs.

MANY PEOPLE TOTALLY BELIEVE THEIR DELUSIONS THAT ARE NOT AMENABLE TO CORRECTION BY OTHERS AND THE REASON THEY ARE NOT MAD YET IS BECAUSE THEY ARE ROBOTS THAT BEHAVE ACCORDING TO WHAT THEIR PROGRAMS TELL THEM TO DO AND SO LONG AS THOSE PROGRAMS ADEQUATELY SAFEGUARD THEM FROM DOING TOO SILLY THINGS THEY WILL SURVIVE UNTIL A TIME WHEN THEIR JUKEBOX BECOMES TOO CORRUPTED AND DEGENERATE BY WEAR AND TEAR THAT IT WILL SEND THEM INTO SUICIDAL OR HOMICIDAL ACTIONS.

HUMANOID ROBOTS CAN FUNCTION PERFECTLY WELL DOING THINGS YOU ASK THEM TO DO OR SAY, SO LONG AS THEY ARE ASKED TO DO AND SAY THINGS THEY HAVE BEEN PROGRAMMED TO SAY OR DO, WHATEVER IS OUTSIDE THEIR PROGRAMS THEY CANNOT SAY OR DO AND IT IS ONLY WHEN THEIR PROGRAMS MALFUNCTION THAT DISASTER HAPPEN.

Not only is force blind, it blinds:

Not only is force itself blind but it increasingly blinds the foolish person who accepts force’s invitation to use it so that the person cannot see the previous state before he used force and accepts the current forced state as fait accompli, even if it is suffering and tormenting, ‘that is the way it is, sigh!’ when it is not so, there is a way out that is hidden to fools mesmerized by force.

Force is blinding is another way of saying force conditions the person increasingly until he forgets his previous state before he allowed force to condition or blind him.

Thus if initially you did not stretch your syllables, changed speed and loudness and you hear people doing so, even if you did not know what you heard is stretching, changing speed and loudness, you are slowly inducted or induced by force to copy what others are doing without knowing what you are doing and increasingly you forget the relatively blissful state you were in before you started stretching, changing speed and loudness and increasingly you accept this forceful state of constant stretching, changing speed and loudness as the natural and only way to speak.

It is a reflection that people are now so blind, so thoroughly hoodwinked that even when it is pointed to them and even demonstrated to them many times precisely how they stretch, change speed and loudness they still struggle to perceive and continue to do so somnolently even though it is the ONLY way out of the stress, restlessness and distraction that must regularly beset them even to tormenting levels.

Not just disagreeing with me:

You may be a fool if you think you only just take issue with me because I am too much because you will also take issue or differ with the Buddha or Jesus.

The Buddha said dancing is insanity and singing is crying in the teaching of the noble ones. So if you dance, like to dance, like to watch shows where is dancing, you practice and appreciate insanity according to the Buddha. He said the wise neither likes nor dislike and so if you like to like and dislike you are also disagreeing with him. If you disagree with him you have wrong view because the Buddha always has right view about everything and the destination of wrong view he tells you is hell or the animal womb.

Jesus said woe to you who laugh for you shall weep, do you laugh, have you ever laughed before? So you think you agree with Jesus? He said let your yes be yes only. You may be correct if you perceive yourself as letting your yes be yes only or it may be true you never let your yes be yes only but always say or do more than comes from evil not good.

Talking Nonsense:

Badawi: "I can be nice. Being nice is your character and you cannot change. But being nice does not mean one is weak," he told the gathering of some 700 people comprising political and corporate leaders, students, civil servants and policymakers.

Even if he cannot define what he meant by his being nice, it can be known objectively. When people talk of others and themselves being nice they mean saying and doing things in a way and substance that pleases others and that is not good but hypocritical to please others.

By implication he thinks his ability to be nice is his goodness and that is delusion because not only is niceness not good or neutral but it is bad, harmful to himself and others.

He says that even though he is nice, he can be strong, in other words his niceness is his faked weakness and beneath the velvet glove is a fist of iron. He worships strength not realizing strength is all about force and force is evil and harmful to himself and to everyone else.

People reading what he said are likely to think it is full of meaning when it is garbled nonsense or muddled thinking shared in common with humanity.

Diverting attention:

Recently there have been quite a lot of negative press about the government and the police and ‘in one fell swoop’, this Hindraf ‘outrage’ has diverted attention from the embarrassed government and police to a target for public vilification whilst painting a lovely picture of the government and police as defenders of the peace.

How convenient or might it be orchestrated. If Anwar can be charged and jailed for abusing power because he used his position to suppress Azizan’s claim of sodomy then it is should not be a surprise that events can be orchestrated to divert attention.

Below the prime minister is possibly making hay of the bad press for Hindraf.

Public safety above all

PUTRAJAYA: Public safety before public freedom will be the government's top priority and there will be no hesitation in taking the stiffest action against irresponsible people, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

“If the choice is between public safety and public freedom, I do not hesitate to say here that public safety will always win.

“I will not sacrifice my sense of accountability to the greater public, especially in the face of police intelligence about planned fighting or other violent intent.

“We must never ever take our peace for granted. We must continue to be responsible to each other,” Abdullah said at the Khazanah Global Lecture Series organised by Khazanah, the government's investment arm.

He said responsibility was an integral value of the nation today as it was in 1957 or 1969.

At a question-and-answer session, Abdullah said he had a duty to perform and that God knew he was “still clean” and that he had no reason to change.

“If I were to sign an ISA detention order, I will do it without feeling any guilt because I have to do my duty.”

Asked on steps taken by the Government to maintain racial harmony, Abdullah said that if anyone broke the law, he would deal with them by enforcing the law.

He advised certain quarters not to play the racial card to seek votes in the general election.

Stating that he was worried because voters were easily persuaded, Abdullah advised Malaysians to show the Government what they really wanted through elections.

He said he had been the Prime Minister for only five years and not much could be expected from him as there was a lot to do.

“People are criticising me, things take time to grow. I want to succeed more than anyone else because I feel responsible,” he said.

Earlier, when describing the characteristics of a true Malaysian in his speech, he said the person would understand the impact of careless words and actions.

“A true Malaysian is acutely aware of who will be provoked into retaliation and who will actually suffer the consequences and will try to be judicious in word and deed, even when striving for change,” he said.

Abdullah said the various groups have their own set of demands and sensitivities and that true Malaysians would understand that the situation demanded balance, conscientiousness and a sense of accountability to the whole society rather than to a few.

All for show:

Both the substance of what they are doing (a memorized sequence of repetitive coordinated body and limb movements that achieves nothing purposeful like a meal to be eaten or clean clothes to wear if you did washing) and the style or how they do it (with added force, stretching or twisting of body and limbs, accelerating speed and strength of force) are false, meaningless, only meant for show to impress others how stylish and impressive they are and it is practicing controlled madness which with loss of control that will be mandatory they will become mad in old age or an acute situation (panic). Thus the Buddha is correct to say dancing is insanity. You don’t believe do you, it does not apply to you, only to those who want to be Buddhas? Keep dancing and keep watching dancing with fascination and there may be an appointment with insanity in the future for you.

Reason not needed, only fight & win:

Reason or understanding things accurately is not essential for survival and doing well (materially) in this world, only the indomitable will to keep fighting and win.

You don’t need to know what is right or wrong, true or false only watch and copy what behaviour and thoughts or ideas gets you where you want to be materially in this world, helps you fight at an advantage and win.

Thus all you need is watch and copy into your mental hard disk to be rendered appropriately as the situation arises.

The danger of this is that should a fault develop in your jukebox, you are in big trouble as you do not know what to do. If your jukebox commands you to do something that will be fatal, eg overtake when it is too risky, they because it is not you who is driving but your emotions ordering your jukebox to overtake, you will become ‘roadkill’ yourself.

I Can Also Squeeze Your Balls:

The person who says I am nice but I can also be tough is actually saying “I can carry your balls but I can also squeeze them”, he is making a threat and if he thinks he is praising himself, he is deluded because he is besmirching himself. Does he tell you “I am making you a threat”? If he does not then he is a man who does not mean what he says. Anyone who makes a threat is creating karma for himself, thus if you say I can also be tough, you are threatening and that is incurring karma.

When people say I am such a nice person or she is such a nice girl, they mean it in praise but they are perverts who do not know what they are talking about.

If you asked people who are frequently referring to niceness in themselves and others to tell you exactly what they mean by being nice, they are likely to stumble or be at loss for words, reflecting that they do not know what they are talking about, they copied it from others, knowing approximately what it means without giving thought themselves that ‘such and such’ is niceness and they are robots well programmed with recorded answers to everything they are likely to meet but when someone confronts them with a question to which they have no pre-recorded reply, they are at loss, embarrassed and do not know what to say, may switch topic or attempt to brush it off or they get angry.

Everything that can happen can be clearly defined. If there is such a thing called ‘niceness’ then it can be defined.

Niceness is forcing oneself (never with reason) to say and do things (that are dishonest) with a substance and also a style that is intended to please the other person or make him or her feel pleased with himself or stir his or her mental force to be attracted to himself or herself.

What the nice person said is designed to flatter the other person (not without selfish motive, why don’t you be nice to a beggar as you are nice to a pretty girl?).

How the person says it that can only be how he musically stretch his syllables, change speed and loudness is also designed to please the other person or impress that you like him when you may not.

If you like colourful language then a nice guy is someone who does and says things in a substance and style that is designed to carry others’ balls or testicles or ovaries. Nobody will knowingly, with reason carry another person’s balls but there must be motive to do so, to curry favour, to want something in return and thus being nice is being a hypocrite in order to get something, eg the affection of the girl you are nice to. She likes you not because she loves you but because you are nice to her (buy expensive presents, go to expensive restaurants and places).

GOODNESS MUST NOT BE MISTAKEN FOR NICENESS, THE TWO ARE LIKE CHALK (NICENESS) AND CHEESE (GOODNESS). IF YOU CONFUSE NICENESS WITH GOODNESS YOU ARE A GREAT FOOL WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT.

Catching out the robot:

Nowadays humanoid robots are so good, they can be so life like that so long as they are viewed within the performance envelop they were designed for, eg Asimo can act as if he is playing the violin (if you don’t stop the music to see him still playing, you might think he is actually playing it) and a dentist’s mannequin can act as patient and feel and express pain when her tooth is extracted but if you were to intentionally or accidentally stray beyond the robot’s performance envelop, eg asks a question or request her to do something that she was not programmed to perform then you might begin to suspect she is a dud or fake.

In the same way, there are indications in daily life that suggests or proves people are sophisticated robots but because people are themselves robots they fail to realize the significance of what they are witnessing.

You can be engaged in an animated conversation that seem so spontaneous or specific to the occasion with another but if you stray into a subject or topic or ask a question to which the person has no answer you can see he is all at sea, uncomfortable, do not know what to say or do, may try to switch topic or he searches his jukebox and comes up with a nonspecific answer that does not seem quite appropriate to the situation.

For instance a person’s whose world revolves around money and have never given thought to religion may suddenly turn taciturn and even angry if you broach the topic of religion because he wants to impress you and there are no recordings in his jukebox regarding religion and he tries to hide his foolishness by acting angry.

Someone who has not programmed his or her mental jukebox with answers or responses on sexual matters will not know what to say or do when the subject of sex is mentioned to them. Without programs telling them what to say or do, they are lost, do not know what to do or say. Only after they have been told what to say or do and they have copied it well would they then know what to say or do when sex is mentioned.

THE FACT THAT ORDINARY STYLISH PEOPLE CAN SOMETIMES STUMBLE, BE AT LOSS AS TO WHAT TO SAY OR DO IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS THAT THEY ARE NOT ACCUSTOMED TO SUGGESTS THAT THEIR USUAL BEHAVIOR IS REGURGITATED FROM MEMORY AND IF THERE ARE NO RECORDINGS IN THEIR JUKEBOX FOR THE SITUATION OR THEY HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD BY OTHERS OR THEIR MENTAL PROGRAMS WHAT TO SAY OR DO, THEY CANNOT FUNCTION AND MUST DIVERT THE TOPIC OR PICK A RESPONSE THAT IS MOST APT TO THE SITUATION BUT IS DISCERNIBLE INAPPROPRIATE. PEOPLE ARE GREAT CON ARTISTS TRYING TO PASS THEMSELVES OFF TO OTHERS AND THEMSELVES THAT THEY ARE LIVE SPECIFIC PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE VOYEURS IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE WORLDS AND ONLY INTERMITTENTLY LIASING WITH THE REAL WORLD.

Predatory lending:

According to Paul Krugman, many of those who are now in trouble with subprime loans that they have no hope of servicing were actually eligible for much safer loans, they have the credit rating to qualify for safer loans but they were misled or deceived to take loans whose interest payments have now spiralled beyond their capabilities to repay and they are in big trouble.

UBS, the largest European bank of which Singapore’s government fund is a significant shareholder, announced unexpected losses of US$10 billion related to subprime lending and asked for emergency capital injection from shareholders. This is not the end of the story as there are rumours worse is yet to come next year and the Singapore government that is enthusiastically investing its citizens’ money all over the world may yet fall flat on its face.

How many times must I tell you?

You hear parents berating their children, how many times must I tell you not to do that and they still do it?

The reason is because their children’s behaviour is never fresh specific for the occasion but rehashed and short of reprogramming him with force he will not change.

In the same way people have deluded beliefs eg their episodic breathing blockage is due to their high cholesterol when it is not but due to mental resistance to whatever they say or do that episodically get too strong to be experienced as an inability to breathe but still they believe their episodic difficulty in breathing is due to high cholesterol. This is because their beliefs are backed by force that has nothing to do with reason and is not negotiable, unless they use force to reprogram themselves they cannot shake off their delusions.

THE FACT THAT PEOPLE KEEP SAYING, DOING AND THINKING THE SAME OLD THINGS EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN TICKED OFF MANY TIMES, THEY PROMISED NOT TO DO AND IT HAS BEEN EXPLAINED TO THEM WHY THEY ARE WRONG AND HARMFUL INDICATES THEY ARE NOT MASTERS OF THEIR BEHAVIOR BUT THEY MAY BE ROBOTS BEHAVING BY PROGRAMING AND IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THEM YOU MUST LABORIOUSLY RE-PROGRAM THEM WITH FORCE.

The earth or the economy?

When it comes to the crunch, which comes first, the earth or the economy? Would you risk unnecessarily eating one bun or using one plastic bag less or risk the possibility of destroying the earth if you did not?

It is no stretch of the imagination that there is profligate conspicuous consumption all the world and you should advice for caution, to cut down on your consumption rather than label prophets of doom as cranks hyping their cases.

YOU SHOULD LOVE THE EARTH THAN LOVE YOUR CONSUMPTION.

Far worse than the forecasts of the prophets:

Apparently scientists are far less sanguine privately than they let on in public and the truth may be that the earth was irretrievably compromised by mankind even before the industrial revolution and disaster will strike the earth and humankind far more rapidly and severely than the dreams of the most eccentric scientists and if this is the case and you pour cold water on their alarms you are asking for judgment.

It is better late than never. Even the best efforts of mankind will not save the planet, at least those who have taken action has done something meaningful or constructive and they should be encouraged rather than scorned.

The Buddha said a day will come when the earth will be consumed by fire and no more, that day may be far closer than you dream possible.

The pervert’s logic:

The pervert’s logic is that because they have gone out of their way to stress themselves to make an effort to say or do things in a nice way to please you they are good to you, conveniently forgetting their niceness has selfish motive and that it is just as stressful on the recipient to receive the niceness.

Whether your niceness stresses, make restless and distracts yourself and your recipient is an objective diagnosis, not something that you can refute and if you are nice, you are conditioning yourself and others to stress, restlessness and distraction that will end in mad stress, mad restlessness and mad distraction for yourself whilst you have debts not merit harming others.

Hype & downplay:

It is wrong view to think that people always hype things and therefore scientists must be guilty of hyping when they too may have advertently or inadvertently downplayed or underestimated the extent of climate change.

What people never do is tell the plain truth because there is always style or emotion or like or dislike accompanying what they say that render it never the plain truth.

SO LONG AS THERE IS STYLE (FORCEFUL STRETCHING, CHANGING SPEED AND LOUDNESS) OR EMOTION ACCOMPANYING WHAT YOU SAY, IT IS NEVER THE PLAIN TRUTH EXCEPT IN YOUR DELUSION IT IS BECAUSE TRUTH NEVER HAS FORCE AND FORCE IS HARMFUL AND DISTORTS.

People do not always hype but they can also downplay matters.

It is not without purpose that people hype and downplay (selectively) but they usually hype their own qualities and experiences to falsely impress others how great they are and how marvellous their lives are and they usually underestimate their own bad qualities and experiences, underestimate others’ good qualities and experiences because they are jealous or derisive or disdainful.

In the case of environmental damage, in common with humanity that is in denial, scientists may have seriously underestimated the extent of mankind’s harm of the environment rather than hyping.

Already the speed with which Arctic ice is melting is four times faster than scientists’ estimate or computer projections & the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is still rising exponentially.

The worst may be yet to come for various factors.

There is a lot of methane trapped by the cold and pressure at the bottom of the oceans. Should an earthquake disrupt them, methane may rise and being a very potent greenhouse gas will raise the global temperature tremendously.

The permafrost of the Russian and Canadian tundra holds a lot of methane and it is thawing and may potentially increase the greenhouse gases far worse than scientific projections.

There is evidence the Amazon forest is in distress, trees are dying and afflicted by draught. Now trees are removing CO2 and replacing it with oxygen but when a critical point is passed, trees may pump CO2 into the air and compete with us for oxygen according to scientists.

The oceans’ capacity to absorb CO2 is weakening, its increasing acidity by precipitating out calcium has compromised many organisms that need calcium to make shells (eg corals & even planktons) and they may be becoming extinct to the detriment rather than benefit of mankind.

As arctic ice melts, it reflects less sunlight and the dark oceans absorb more heat accelerating the warming that will cause the remaining ice to melt even faster in a vicious cycle.

Many species have already vanished from mankind’s rampant clearing of forests and agriculture and this is likely to the detriment of the earth and thence mankind.

The reason why scientists have seriously downplayed the extent of warming may be because there are many major factors that they have failed to factor in, poor judgment and in common with mankind, they are too optimistic or complacent. Optimism and complacency is a defilement of your mind. You should never take anything for granted or be optimistic or hope for the best but be vigilant, prepared for the worst.

WITHOUT KNOWING AND SEEING, YOU WILL BE FOOLISH TO CAST DOUBT ON THE SCIENTISTS AS HYPING CRANKS. IN FACT THEY MAY BE GUILTY OF DOWNPLAYING OR SEVERELY UNDERESTIMATING THE PILLAGE BY MANKIND.

TRUE REASON SEES AND KNOWS THAT HYPE AND DOWNPLAY IS FALSE AND THEREFORE TRUE REASON WILL NOT HYPE OR DOWNPLAY BUT IN ORDER TO HYPE OR DOWNPLAY YOU MUST SUSPEND YOUR TRUE REASON AND USE FORCE OR EMOTION TO DRIVE YOUR HYPE AND DOWNPLAY AND IF YOU KEEP HYPING AND DOWNPLAYING, IN TIME YOUR TRUE REASONING BECOMES PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED TO BE REPLACED BY FALSE REASON OR EXCUSES OR JUSTIFICATIONS.

The reason you shall weep is not because of God punishing you or some quaint universal law but you are subjecting your mind to violent force by thus laughing and this force slowly degrades your mind whilst warping or deforming it. A degraded and bent mind is always suffering and it is not about anybody punishing you but by laughing you are slipping a noose around your neck that you do not see and believe will strangle you alive.

She looks like a male England football captain (Tony Adams) who also tends to laugh like this and it reflects that sexual differences and identity are false. We all look a little like each other and all existences and self identity is false.

Ice free Arctic even before 2013:

Scientists projected by computer based on outdated data minus 2005 and 2007 that the Arctic summers will be ice free by 2013. Taking into account the significantly worse melting in 2005 and 2007, the Arctic may be ice free even before 2013 (six years hence).

Scientists in the US have presented one of the most dramatic forecasts yet for the disappearance of Arctic sea ice.

Their latest modelling studies indicate northern polar waters could be ice-free in summers within just 5-6 years.

Professor Wieslaw Maslowski told an American Geophysical Union meeting that previous projections had underestimated the processes now driving ice loss.

Summer melting this year reduced the ice cover to 4.13 million sq km, the smallest ever extent in modern times.

Remarkably, this stunning low point was not even incorporated into the model runs of Professor Maslowski and his team, which used data sets from 1979 to 2004 to constrain their future projections.

Real world

Using supercomputers to crunch through possible future outcomes has become a standard part of climate science in recent years.

Professor Maslowski's group, which includes co-workers at Nasa and the Institute of Oceanology, Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS), is well known for producing modelled dates that are in advance of other teams.

These other teams have variously produced dates for an open summer ocean that, broadly speaking, go out from about 2040 to 2100.

But the Monterey researcher believes these models have seriously underestimated some key melting processes. In particular, Professor Maslowski is adamant that models need to incorporate more realistic representations of the way warm water is moving into the Arctic basin from the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

"My claim is that the global climate models underestimate the amount of heat delivered to the sea ice by oceanic advection," Professor Maslowski said.

"The reason is that their low spatial resolution actually limits them from seeing important detailed factors.

"We use a high-resolution regional model for the Arctic Ocean and sea ice forced with realistic atmospheric data. This way, we get much more realistic forcing, from above by the atmosphere and from the bottom by the ocean."

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the UN-led body which assesses the state of the Earth's climate system, uses an averaged group of models to forecast ice loss in the Arctic.

But it is has become apparent in recent years that the real, observed rate of summer ice melting is now starting to run well ahead of the models.

The minimum ice extent reached in September 2007 shattered the previous record for ice withdrawal set in 2005, of 5.32 million square km.

The long-term average minimum, based on data from 1979 to 2000, is 6.74 million square km. In comparison, 2007 was lower by 2.61 million square km, an area approximately equal to the size of Alaska and Texas combined, or the size of 10 United Kingdoms.

Diminishing returns

Professor Peter Wadhams from Cambridge University, UK, is an expert on Arctic ice. He has used sonar data collected by Royal Navy submarines to show that the volume loss is outstripping even area withdrawal, which is in agreement with the model result of Professor Maslowski.

"Some models have not been taking proper account of the physical processes that go on," he commented.

"The ice is thinning faster than it is shrinking; and some modellers have been assuming the ice was a rather thick slab.

"Wieslaw's model is more efficient because it works with data and it takes account of processes that happen internally in the ice."

He cited the ice-albedo feedback effect in which open water receives more solar radiation, which in turn leads to additional warming and further melting.

Professor Wadhams said the Arctic was now being set up for further ice loss in the coming years.

"The implication is that this is not a cycle, not just a fluctuation. The loss this year will precondition the ice for the same thing to happen again next year, only worse.

"There will be even more opening up, even more absorption and even more melting.

"In the end, it will just melt away quite suddenly. It might not be as early as 2013 but it will be soon, much earlier than 2040."

The US National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) collects the observational data on the extent of Arctic sea ice, delivering regular status bulletins. Its research scientist Dr Mark Serreze was asked to give one of the main lectures here at this year's AGU Fall Meeting.

Discussing the possibility for an open Arctic ocean in summer months, he told the meeting: "A few years ago, even I was thinking 2050, 2070, out beyond the year 2100, because that's what our models were telling us. But as we've seen, the models aren't fast enough right now; we are losing ice at a much more rapid rate.

"My thinking on this is that 2030 is not an unreasonable date to be thinking of."

And later, to the BBC, Dr Serreze added: "I think Wieslaw is probably a little aggressive in his projections, simply because the luck of the draw means natural variability can kick in to give you a few years in which the ice loss is a little less than you've had in previous years. But Wieslaw is a smart guy and it would not surprise me if his projections came out."

Former US Vice President Al Gore cited Professor Maslowski's analysis on Monday in his acceptance speech at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo.

Mean unethical HP:

I was nearly deceived to waste my money buying a higher capacity HP ink cartridge that was not compatible with my combo HP photocopy scanner printer.

The previous superseded model could use the more economical higher capacity cartridge but this current model only uses the lower capacity cartridge perhaps so that HP can make more money out of the purchaser. Because I assumed that the new model would share the same cartridges, I almost purchased the more economical high capacity cartridge but luckily I held back because it was not urgent. When I tried to fit the high capacity cartridge I was using on another preceding model printer it would not work and I thought I damaged it but it worked fine on the other machine and looking at the label on the printers, the superseded printer will use both cartridges but the latest printer will only use the more expensive cartridge.

THERE IS NO REASON WHY THE CURRENT HP PRINTER CANNOT BE DESIGNED TO USE THE LARGER CAPACITY CARTRIDGE THAT ITS PREDECESSOR COULD USE AND THE ONLY REASON IS TO DISHONESTLY MAKE THE USER PAY MORE WITHOUT INFORMING HIM BEFOREHAND WHAT HE IS COMMITTING HIMSELF TO AND ALSO RISK HIM MAKING AN EXPENSIVE MISTAKE OF BUYING A CARTRIDGE INCOMPATIBLE WITH HIS PRINTER. ALTHOUGH THE PRINTER IS CHEAP, IN THE LONG RUN THE USER PAYS MORE THROUGH THE EXPENSIVE CARTRIDGE.

THE RIGHTEOUS COMPANY WHO MEANS WHAT IT DOES MUST SAY I AM GOING TO CHARGE YOU CHEAP FOR THE PRINTER BUT YOU WILL PAY FOR IT WITH THE INK CARTRIDGES YOU BUY AND IN ADDITION I WILL MAKE YOU PAY MORE BY PREVENTING YOU FROM USING THE MORE ECONOMICAL CATRIDGE. THUS PEOPLE THINK THEY SPEAK THE TRUTH ONLY IN THEIR DELUSION THEY DO.

THUS AMERICANS LIKE TO THINK THEY ARE VERY ETHICAL PEOPLE, THEY MAY BE NO BETTER.

Better sorry than safe:

Better safe than sorry is a rule just as nothing ventured nothing gained is another rule that encourages you to risk.

If you ask the pope whether one should be safe than sorry, it is likely he would say, “yes” but his position on climate change is ‘better sorry than safe” even if he does not realize it.

Do you concede there is climate change?

If you do not concede there is climate change then you are in denial like an ostrich sticking his head in the sand. The CO2 level is rising exponentially as charted for many decades and there is rising temperatures, sea levels and unusual droughts and rainfalls in many places. If you look at old pictures of glaciers, mountains and the arctic, do you see evident loss of ice?

Thus if you concede there is global warming, might there not be danger that it would lead to disaster for the earth and mankind, especially bearing mind Jesus predicted a catastrophic demise for the earth?

If you concede there is danger of catastrophe, would it not be prudent, ‘better safe than sorry’ to take measures to minimize climate change?

By preaching complacency is the pope not saying ‘better sorry than safe’?

Burping earth:

Just as people burp, the earth also burps methane from the depth of the oceans. Scientists have documented sudden releases of methane that can capsize a ship and thus the methane trapped under pressure and cold at the bottom of the oceans can be disturbed to rise and cause sudden intensification of global warming.
