A 10 cents coin stuck strongly. Another method is put bar in strong acid which should not dissolve it.

If a gold bar is a fake it must contain a substantial amount of heavy metals like zinc, nickel and copper inside gold plating and nickel is magnetic so the bar must attract magnets and if it's inert it suggest bar is genuine.
