By meditation you attain a state of steady, imperturbable concentration that cannot be disrupted by others, things happening, you become impervious to external intrusions and thus feel no pain or pleasure. Pleasure is a curse of death and suffering and it's good riddance not a deprivation for those who have reached such high concentration they are impervious to pain and pleasure.

Death and suffering has one escape:

If you are satisfied, content to suffer and die then nobody can do anything for you. If you want to escape death and suffering then then there is an escape not many escapes and this escape is the refuge of the four higher states of the mind starting with no style or no prolonging of words, changing speed and loudness and as you develop your concentration even higher, thinking then emotions and finally feelings stop and these are the only escape from suffering and death, the higher your concentration the less you suffer and longer you live measured in world cycles, up to 500 world cycles for the highest state of the mind.
