I repaired my HP printer:
My
quite new HP 1510 printer suddenly jammed and opening the ink compartment I saw
a rubber flap obstructing the way. A mechanism that retracted it has broken. I
noticed a compartment secured by two screws underneath this retractile flap and
I permanently disabled it, put it out of the way and the printer seems no worse
afterwards.
THE
BROKEN JAMMED FLAP MUST HAVE SOME USE BUT FOR MY PURPOSES IT SEEMS REDUNDANT.
ACTUALLY
CHEAP PRINTERS HAVE VERY FEW PARTS AND IT IS NOT AS DAUNTING TO DIAGNOSE AND
REPAIR AS MANY MAY IMAGINE.
I
BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT AND HAD WRITTEN IT OFF BUT I DECIDED TO CLEAN THE ROLLERS
TO SEE IF IT WORKS AND OPENING THE INK COMPARTMENT I FOUND THE FLAP WAS THE
CULPRIT.
RECENTLY
MY UPPER FLOOR RESIDENCE WAS BADLY FLOODED IN HEAVY RAIN FROM THE SEWAGE PIPE
AND I RAPIDLY DIAGNOSED CORRECTLY THE SEWAGE VENTILATION OPENING IN THE GUTTER
WAS INCORRECTLY USED AS A ROOF DRAIN PIPE AND WHEN IT BECAME CLOGGED WITH
LEAVES THE ROOF WATER OVERFLOWED INTO MY UPPER FLOOR RESIDENCE.
RIGHT
UNDERSTANDING IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SAVE TROUBLE AND LOSSES.
HP cartridges not interchangeable so I would have lost usage of
my RM 60 spare cartridge had I not salvaged printer:
WHETHER
BY MALICE OR NOT, HP PRODUCES SPECIFIC EXPENSIVE CARTRIDGES THAT CANNOT BE USED
ON OTHER MODELS SO THE LOSS OF MY HP 1350 PRINTER WOULD MEAN MY NEW SPARE
CARTRIDGE PLUS THE VERY NEW IN USE CARTRIDGE WOULD BE WASTED.
Because
I had an unused $60 new cartridge plus a nearly new one in use that would be
gone to waste if I wrote it off, I decided to see if I could repair even though
I bought a replacement printer.
The
obstructing rubber flap must have some use but for my purposes printing
letters, it seemed unnecessary.
Cheap
printers are rudimentary and may cost little to the manufacturer.
Paper
was repeated being mashed up crumbled on the left margin and when I opened the
ink compartment I notice a raised rubber flap was the offender and I found the
mechanism raising and lowering the flap was a module that can be removed by
unscrewing two screws at the bottom. The mechanism had broken and I permanently
lowered the flap and replaced the module.
HP euphemistically calls ‘refilled’ cartridges ‘stolen’:
Euphemism
is never blameless but it is not saying what you mean that has blame and
suffering due.
When
I installed the software for my new HP 2130 printer, I was asked to choose to render my cartridges unusable if it was stolen (refilled cartridges used in other machines would
technically be stolen cartridges) and to disallow
installation of generic replacements which
I declined.
SUCH
AN OPTION MAY SEEM TO BENEFIT THE OWNER BUT IT IS LIKELY TO BENEFIT HP MOST
BECAUSE STOLEN CARTRIDGES (REFILLED CARTRIDGES USED ON OTHER MACHINES ARE
TECHNICALLY STOLEN CARTRIDGES) AND THE DISABLING OF GENERIC CARTRIDGES MEANS I
MUST ONLY BUY GENUINE HP CARTRIDGES.
SIMILARLY
IT MAY BE DELIBERATE TO RENDER CARTRIDGES NOT INTERCHANGEABLE FOR USE ON NEWER
MODELS BECAUSE IF YOUR OLD MACHINE IS SPOILT AND NOT WORTH REPAIRING YOU HAVE
TO WRITE OFF UNUSED INK.

people say or do is by memory, it is recorded in their minds and they are
merely rehashing or replaying what is recorded. They seek memory, things that
are for experience and memory, data and stories that are purely for recording
or filing in their minds and they have programmed stirred force to like or
dislike, be agitated or confused, sad, hurt or fearful of what is happening and
it is often this dangerous, blind stirred force that is the source of their
