The question is posed out of delusion as if their anger is justified or meaningful or the correct response to Americanism.
There is no (true) reason why Americanisms should make anyone angry because it is the inappropriate, totally unnecessary false and stressful response to Americanism and therefore there cannot be a true answer Americanisms make people angry.
The relevant response is whether Americanisms are bad & evil or true & good, there is no reason why Americanisms should make people angry except that they are emotional irrational people who understand with stirred force, their stirred force (anger) is triggered by Americanism.
IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF AMERICANISM THAT PEOPLE ARE MADE ANGRY, IT IS THE IRRATIONALITY, THE CONDITIONED STIRRING OF FORCE TO BE ANGRY IN PEOPLE THAT MAKES THEM ANGRY SO ANYONE WHO TRIES TO EXPLAIN WHY AMERICANISMS MAKE SO MANY PEOPLE ANGRY IS BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE OR DELUDED, AS IF PEOPLE ARE CORRECT OR RIGHT TO BE ANGRY AT AMERICANISM.
South Korea’s shaky economy:
South Korea is supposed to be one of Asia’s successful tigers and most people have forgotten that it needed an IMF bailout in 1997. It seems all is not well in Korea, there is a burgeoning household debt as a result of pursuing a property bubble that threatens the South Korean economy.

S Korea's surging household debt threatens its economy

Drive out along Seoul's riverside highway and you pass mile after mile of concrete apartment blocks - blank beige towers built to house the capital's burgeoning population, the block numbers painted in giant letters on their outside walls.
Owning a piece of this concrete landscape has become increasingly important to Koreans, and the banks that fund them.
After the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s, banks turned their attention away from company loans towards private credit. Families were their new target customers.
Since then, household debt in South Korea has grown by an average of 13% a year, almost twice as fast as the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
It has now reached more than 800 trillion won ($750bn; £469bn), equivalent to 150% of disposable income.

The surge in household debt has the government worried, not least due to a stagnation in the real-estate market.
"The property market was seen as good bet," says Lee J Ernst, of Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC).
He says mortgages would typically have a two-or-three-year repayment holiday built in at the start, during which the property could be expected to rise in value, and so be sold at a profit before any payment was due.
"That was fine as long as property prices kept rising," he says,
"But currently that doesn't work, the market is stagnating," he adds.
Mr Lee adds that as the markets begin to stagnate, people are finding themselves caught out.
He says that they are unable to sell their property for the price they paid.
Cost of borrowing
To make matters worse for the consumers, they are facing steep interest payments as well.
More than 90% of Korea's loans have a variable interest rate, which means when interest rates here rise, so do family bills.
The Bank of Korea recently raised interest rates to try to curb inflation, which is currently running above the government's target range.
But that means families here have even less to spend.
And at a time of falling demand in the West, Korea's economy, half of which relies on exports, could use a boost at home.
The government is trying to slowly tighten banks' lending to prevent a downward spiral.
The FSC says it sees the current levels of household debt as "broadly manageable".
But, it says: "We cannot rule out a possibility that [it] would turn into threats to Korea's economy and financial markets unless we take pre-emptive measures."
In April, it re-tightened debt-to-income limits for mortgages, and plans to issue incentives to encourage more borrowers to switch to fixed-rate loans.
Credit-card debt
The risk is families with low-credit ratings will have to look elsewhere for loans.
A report by Samsung's Economic Research Institute (SERI) found credit-card spending went up by almost 10% last year, with more cards being issued, and more loans and cash advances being taken out.
More families, it said, had multiple credit cards and multiple credit-card loans, increasing the risk attached.
In June, the government announced measures to curb credit-card companies' excessive expansion, and is bringing in new tax incentives to encourage families to use debit, rather than credit, cards.
But SERI says the poorest households have more than twice the average credit-card debt. They are likely to be the ones caught in the middle of the credit crunch.
The government says it is aware of the need to protect low-income households and has announced plans to bring in extended repayment windows and micro-credit programmes to help off-set the tightening of liquidity.
Credit spending on merchandise fell slightly in the first quarter of 2011, compared with a 4.4% increase during the previous three months.
Household loans are also growing more slowly than before.
But as financial watchers here point out, with demand falling abroad, this is a transition that needs to happen slowly to avoid precipitating the very crisis Korea's trying to avoid.
The evil of property repayment holidays:
To keep the housing market bubbling authorities recklessly permit buyers repayment holidays for up to 3 years. This encourages speculators to put their names to houses without forking out money which tends to boost demand artificially raising prices that penalize genuine buyers who are forced to pay higher prices with potential dire consequences should the bubble burst.

IT REFLECTS THE GROSS FOLLY OF GOVERNMENTS EVERYWHERE THAT THEY SEE NOTHING WRONG AND PERMIT SUCH REPAYMENT HOLIDAYS.

KUALA LUMPUR: A close friend of Ahmad Sarbaini Mohamed told the Coroner’s Court that the deceased had confided in him that he was snapped at and insulted by Malay sian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers, and had described the lock-up where he was held overnight a few days before his death as “hell on earth”.
Customs assistant director Azman Jusoh said Ahmad Sarbaini had told him on April 3 that the MACC officers had yelled at him and told him he was not “fit to wear his (Customs) uniform”.

The group of 11 doctors at Tung Shin Hospital said they did not wish to enter into the polemics of the rally, but wanted to clarify 'the inconvenient truth'.
'We are outraged at the incidents, and the subsequent responses from the authorities, to the events where tear gas and chemical-laced water were shot into the compounds of Tung Shin and Chinese Maternity hospitals, two adjacent buildings along Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, with scant regard for the safety of patients, staff and the general public who were at the buildings that afternoon.
'What was most frightening and witnessed by many was the unprovoked violent assault within the hospital compounds and apprehension of several protesters who had merely run into the hospitals to seek shelter from the tear gas and the water cannons!'
The statement by the 11 professionals and willingness to provide sworn affidavits comes in the face of denials by the health minister and police that tear gas and water cannons had been aimed at the hospitals despite claims by rally participants that they had been cornered on the section of the road when the attacks began.
Their public statement is all the more significant in that it underscores a growing willingness of Malaysians to take a public stand on touchy issues.
Consider the group of 16 academics, including those from public universities, who had urged the government to release political activists arrested ahead of the so-called Bersih rally, and to allow the event to take place.
'A government that uses the laws, institutions and resources of the state to suppress or repress such activities undermines its own credibility and claim to practising democracy. The actions of the government to curb this Bersih campaign will only hurt public perception of the government's commitments to the freedoms enshrined in the Federal Constitution,' the academics said in a statement.
Civil rights societies and a number of international news publications from around the world have condemned the way in which the authorities locked down the city and arrested nearly 1,700 of the estimated tens of thousands who participated in Bersih - a civil society movement seeking free and fair elections backed by 62 non-governmental organisations, but which the government maintains is opposition-inspired.
The police had declared the rally illegal because the organisers had not obtained a police permit.

Sorry is a delusion:
Sorry is a delusion that emotional people subscribe to as efficacious and meaningful when it is a senseless self-inflicting of pain that the deluded person thinks propitiates his wrong.
What is important is to recognize exactly what it is you have done wrong and undertake to correct it because every time you repeat you are piling up debts to be repaid as future suffering that will make you weep. After you have correctly understood what you did as wrong, you have to confess and ask for forgiveness from the person. If the person does not forgive you then there is suffering due for doing others wrong. As Jesus said, if you forgive others their trespasses, the Father will also forgive you your trespasses. But the trouble with emotional people is that they too are unforgiving, they hold grudges and want revenge.
THE WISE THING IS TO AVOID CREATING DEBT BY DOING WRONG. IF YOU CREATE DEBT AND ARE UNFORGIVING YOURSELF THEN THE FATHER WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU AND YOU WILL HAVE TO BE PUNISHED EVEN IF YOU SAY SORRY. IF YOU CONFESS AND ASK FOR FORGIVENESS AND THE WRONGED PERSON FORGIVES YOU THEN THE MATTER IS SETTLED, IF HE DOES NOT FORGIVE, THE MATTER STILL STANDS. For one who sees correctly, every moment emotional people are creating serious debt by how they behave and speak, eg they are rushed that harasses others who have to interact with them, they are sarcastic, arrogant, trying to poke fun or laugh at matters or others or even themselves, they walk like a gunslinger or seductively.
Whoever uses force to prolong syllables, change speed and loudness is guilty of unnecessarily bombarding others with force that causes stress, restlessness and distraction and this has serious debt far greater than you ever dreamt possible.
Whoever has style must rehash and what is rehash is counterfeit or faked and whoever fakes has debts to be repaid as future suffering.
EVERY MOMENT EMOTIONAL PEOPLE ARE HARMING OTHERS BY RADIATING TOTALLY UNNECESSARY FORCE STRETCHING SYLLABLES, CHANGING SPEED AND LOUDNESS. THEY ARE GUILTY OF FAKING BY REHASHING WHATEVER THEY SAY OR DO. EVEN THEIR ‘SORRY’ ARE REHASHED, NEVER GENUINE SPECIFIC TO THE OCCASION.
Always it is the emotion or force of the moment that matters:
It is never the substance or truth of the occasion that matters but it is the stirred emotion that matters to emotional people.
Thus in the matter of the illegal hacking of phones by News Of The World, there is much still unabated furore or stirred emotion regarding the matter which are actually totally unrelated and senseless. What matters is what exactly that is wrong that has happened and what can be done to punish the wrong. No stirring of emotion to be outraged and attack is meaningful or necessary but it is what matters to emotional people (politicians, lay people, fellow newspapers).
Again in the matter of a Briton winning the euro lottery, it is not the substance but the emotion to be excited or greedy that is important.

WHEN THINGS HAPPEN, IT IS THE STIRRED EMOTION OF THE EVENT THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT OR MEANINGFUL TO EMOTIONAL PEOPLE THAN THE SUBSTANCE OF THE EVENT WHICH MAY BE ‘HO HUM’. PEOPLE ARE DELUDING THEMSELVES IF THEY THINK IT IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THE OCCASION THAT MATTERS, IT IS THE STIRRED EMOTIONS OF THE OCCASION THAT MATTERS TO EMOTIONAL PEOPLE.
What matters to emotional people:
When they speak, they always speak as if they like, dislike, are sad, hurt, confused or disturbed or fearful with what they say, with you or what is happening. Often the matter that is at hand is meaningless or trivial and even if it is a matter of some importance, it is the stirred emotion of the matter that is of primary if not total concern.
THUS FOR ONE WHO DISCERNS, TRULY SEES THINGS AS IT ACTUALLY IS, ORDINARY PEOPLE ALWAYS SPEAK AS IF THEY LIKE, DISLIKE, ARE SAD OR HURT OR CONFUSED OR FEARFUL. IN ADDITION IT IS THE STIRRED EMOTION, STIRRED LIKE, DISLIKE, SADNESS, HURT, ANXIETY OR FEAR TRIGGERED BY WHAT HAS HAPPENED THAT IS THE PRINCIPAL IF NOT ENTIRE MEANING OR PURPOSE THEY FIND IN WHAT HAPPENED. BECAUSE STIRRED BLIND FORCE OR EMOTION HAS NO MEANING, THEIR EXPERIENCES REVOLVE AROUND MEANINGLESS FORCE AND THEY ARE HEADED FOR SUFFERING NOT SAFETY.

“Cannot open it” means unable to open it but if you are discerning, when people say it, there is emotional accompaniment, sometimes to convey it is funny, sometimes that they are upset or confused or befuddled.
Funny, upset and confused is about a stirring of mental force that the person wants to share with the receptive listener and because funny, upset and confused are totally meaningless, about a blind stirring of harmful mental force the person is a fool setting himself up for karma to be repaid as suffering for wanting and successfully stirring his listener to be similarly ‘funny’, upset or confused. The fact that he and you see nothing wrong, see it as correct or meaningful reflects intense delusion or false perception that ends in future suffering.

Mankind has a penchant for brinksmanship, of taking something to the last moment pushing the other side and seeing who ‘blinks’ first or gives way and this has nothing to do with reason or substance but it is a matter of daring or force, of forcibly standing your ground refusing to give way demanding the other side give way. This is controlled insanity that ends in insanity for the practitioners of brinksmanship.

The story of Sarbaini’s ‘suicide’:
THE TIME HAS COME TO EXPOSE THE KILLERS OF AHMAD SARBAINI MOHAMED
D Day: 6th April
On the morning of 6th April 2011, Ahmad Sarbaini went to the Subang mosque for his dawn (Subuh) prayers. There, he met his good friend, Azman, and told him that he would be amending his earlier statement given to the MACC. In retrospect, he thought that would not be a problem because he had come to regard Sheikh Niza as a friend.
By 8.30 am, Ahmad Sarbaini was already at the KL MACC office. Within minutes, he was speaking to Sheikh Niza who was eager to record a further Cautioned Statement from Ahmad Sarbaini.
Sheikh Niza panicked when Ahmad Sarbaini told him he wished to retract his earlier confession as it was procured through fraud and deceit. Of course, Sheikh Niza hit the roof and stated clearly that it was absolutely impossible!
Ahmad Sarbaini was upset and became agitated when Sheikh Niza rejected his request outright. He pleaded desperately with Sheikh Niza and explained that he had misunderstood what the confession was about. However, Sheikh Niza flatly dismissed him and told him to report the matter to KUS Mohd Fauzi.
Then Sheikh Niza made Ahmad Sarbaini wait while he discussed this crucial turn of events with Mohd Fauzi. By then, Sheikh Niza’s tone was beginning to sound ominous to Ahmad Sarbaini.
As expected, Mohd Fauzi flipped when he was told that Ahmad Sarbaini wanted to retract his earlier statement. He warned Sheikh Niza that this would ruin both their careers as their HQ was already over the moon about Ahmad Sarbaini’s ‘extracted confession’.
Since IO Abd Ghani was sceptical when he first saw the confession, Mohd Fauzi then asked if he had spoken to Ahmad Sarbaini about this confession.

Sheikh Niza brought Ahmad Sarbaini to KUS Mohd Fauzi's office, which was next door to the pantry (remember what happened to Teoh Beng Hock). Here, he was verbally abused. KUS Mohd Fauzi called Ahmad Sarbaini a disgrace to the Royal Malaysian Customs, that he was not fit to wear their uniform. Rather shaken up, Ahmad Sarbaini pleaded for pity and a drink of water.
Shockingly, they brought Ahmad Sarbaini to the pantry. Incredibly, as punishment for attempting to retract his ‘confession’, Mohd Fauzi ordered him to climb out of the window and forced him to stand on the ledge.
KUS Mohd Fauzi wanted Ahmad Sarbaini to ponder and reflect on his actions while standing on the edge as “orang macam kau ni lebih baik mati dari hidup menyusahkan orang lain”.
Nervously, Ahmad Sarbaini climbed onto the windowsill as ordered by Mohd Fauzi who continued taunting and abusing him with insults. Sheikh Niza merely looked on. In that split second, Ahmad Sarbaini’s belt got stuck on the outer part of the window and he lost his balance and his life.
And, horror of horrors, what happened to Teoh Beng Hock happened to Ahmad Sarbaini when he fell to his death onto the badminton court below.
KUS Mohd Fauzi was in a dizzy panic when what was supposed to be a threat had now turned fatal. He feared his career and future went up in smoke the moment Ahmad Sarbaini lost his balance. In shock and panic, he ran from the pantry back to his room.
Sheikh Niza immediately ran downstairs to the lobby in a state of shock and disbelief. He was at the verge of tears, regretting this tragic death.
Concocting a story
Without further delay, KUS Mohd Fauzi called everyone into his room to brainstorm and to concoct the most plausible story. Abd Ghani, Henrietta, Khalid, Kamal and also Sheikh Niza finally agreed the best storyline was that Ahmad Sarbaini had committed suicide as he was depressed that his confession could not be retracted.The Director, Hj Mohd Yusof, was also brought into the loop and the approval from HQ sought.
The script seemed good enough for a press conference that would be called by Dato’ Mustafar Ali later that day. That would be the storyline they would all narrate to anyone asking about the death.
And that would be the same story they would give when making the 911 phone call to the Police and in summoning an ambulance. And that was also why not one of these officers went downstairs to confirm whether the dead man on the badminton court was indeed Ahmad Sarbaini.
They already knew who was lying dead on the badminton court. They did not need to go downstairs to verify the identity of the dead person. They all admitted that immediately upon discovering the dead body, they huddled into KUS Mohd Fauzi’s room for a ‘conference’.
They would later rehearse this script over and over again and say that they were too afraid and were in a state of shock.
To ensure that there was no evidence as to what really happened, they erased the CCTV recordings. That was why the police audio-visual forensics analyst, ASP Fauziah Che Mat, told the Coroner that the CCTV recordings had been tampered with.
According to ASP Fauziah, more than 22 hours of recordings from the three-dozen CCTV cameras in the building were ‘interrupted by someone who has expertise in using CCTVs’ by ‘changing of operation on the set, manually’.
Concealing the true cause of death
However, after running this story past that brilliant legal mind, Dato Seri Mohd Shafee Abdullah, MACC was told that the suicide story would not go down well with the Malaysian public.
Firstly, another suicide theory would be too close to the Teoh Beng Hock ‘suicide’.
Secondly, other than the ‘confession’, there was no other evidence of Ahmad Sarbaini’s involvement in any corrupt activities. Confessions are mostly procured through torture and intimidation. Without any tangible evidence, the story would not be plausible.
The Police collaborated with the MACC in their attempt to conceal the real cause of Ahmad Sarbaini’s death. The scratch marks on Ahmad Sarbaini’s belt and the paint stains on his pants would be used as ‘evidence’ to explain that he was trying to make a hasty escape by jumping onto the roof from the pantry.
Unfortunately, the Coroner had visited the site and anyone who has been to that building would know that jumping onto that roof would lead nowhere. As such, that could not ever have been an escape route!
The Killers and the Conspirators
We now know the identities of Ahmad Sarbaini’s killers and conspirators. It is for the Coroner to make that finding of the cause of death and thereafter for AG Gani Patail as the Public Prosecutor to charge these people.
In the meantime, to do justice to this poor deceased man and his family, let it be known that other than the so-called ‘confession’ -- which was obtained through deception and threats -- there is no evidence to show that the late Ahmad Sarbaini was involved in any corrupt practices.
All of the MACC witnesses have admitted that fact in court during the Inquest. Also, the MACC’s own investigations and audit on his and his family's assets did not disclose any extraordinary wealth -- as what we may have found in recent disclosures of the assets of our politicians and leaders.
So let us allow the soul of Ahmad Sarbaini to rest in peace and offer his grief-stricken widow some respite and respect.
Chua: It’s good to establish ties with Vatican
It is not up to the individual to determine what is good or bad, it is objective what is good and what is bad and if what you perceive is good is neither good nor bad or is bad then that is wrong view that leads to perdition. There may be ulterior motive to say it is good in order to (self-serving) praise the ruling elite’s move.
The Buddha said cessation is good and that is absolutely true, applies to everyone even if you refuse. Eg stopping talking and thinking is good, to talk and think is bad.
To be involved in this world is bad, to withdraw or dissociate is good, establishing ties with the Vatican is a form of involvement and therefore is bad and it applies to everyone. Jesus said you should deny yourself and you do not deny yourself by undertaking and involving yourself.
IF YOU WANT TO PUBLICIZE AND FIND AN EXCUSE TO UP PLAY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TIES, YOU SAY IT IS GOOD, BUT WHETHER SOMETHING IS GOOD OR NOT OR HOW MUCH GOOD IF ANY THERE IS IN IT IS OBJECTIVE AND IF THERE IS NOT MUCH GOOD IN IT THEN YOU ARE FOOLISHLY TAKING UPON YOURSELF KARMA TELLING OTHERS IT IS GOOD.
IT IS GOOD NOT TO TAKE WHAT IS NOT GIVEN BUT WHETHER ESTABLISHING TIES WITH THE VATICAN IS GOOD AS YOU TOUT IS ANOTHER MATTER THAT HAS SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES FOR ITS CHAMPION.

HENCE BEINGS HERE ARE NEVER TRULY ONE AND NEVER THE SAME, IN HEAVEN THEY ARE TRULY ONE BUT NEVER THE SAME.
"If he wants, he wields manifold supranormal powers. Having been one he becomes many; having been many he becomes one. He appears. He vanishes. He goes unimpeded through walls, and mountains. It is not good to establish ties:
It is not good to establish ties no matter what the entity you establish ties with but it is what you subsequently do with the ties that may be good or bad or totally useless.
Thus if after a period of establishing ties with the Vatican you can see useful benefits from the ties you can say the ties has benefits or are good. Before seeing any fruits from the ties, you are presumptuous, jumping to unwarranted conclusion that is training yourself and others in false logic to say, ‘it is good to establish ties with the Vatican’. Not everyone who embraces Buddhism benefits from it, there are those who are excommunicated or bring disrepute to Buddhism and so it is not necessarily good to join or establish ties with Buddhism.
As the Buddha taught, all contact is suffering and therefore bad, all cessation or withdrawal of contact is cessation of suffering and therefore good. Contact or establishing ties demands work and maintenance, is stressful no matter how pleasurable or beneficial, all cessation of contact is the end of suffering.
EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE ESTABLISHED PHYSICAL CESSATION OF CONTACT (EG WITH GAMBLING, A VOLUPTUOUS GIRL, DELICIOUS FOOD) THERE IS STILL MENTAL CONTACT (THEY STILL CRAVE OR LUST FOR GAMBLING, THAT VOLUPTUOUS GIRL OR LUSCIOUS FOODS) AND SO THEY HAVE NEVER TRULY EXPERIENCED CESSATION OF CONTACT TO KNOW IT IS ESCAPE FROM SUFFERING AND ESTABLISHMENT OF CONTACT IS ALWAYS SUFFERING.
ESTABLISHMENT OF CONTACT WITH WHAT IS WHOLESOME EG THE BUDDHA IS GOOD COMPARED WITH CONTACT TO WHAT IS UNWHOLESOME BUT EVEN THIS CONTACT WITH THE WHOLESOME IS BAD COMPARED WITH AN ABSOLUTE STOPPING OF ALL CONTACT OR TIES WHICH ORDINARY PEOPLE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED.
WHATEVER CONTACT OR TIES HOWEVER WHOLESOME CANNOT BE COMPARED WITH A TRUE CESSATION OF ALL CONTACT OR TIES. THE BUDDHA SAID HE HAS CUT OFF ALL TIES, UNLIKE OTHER BEINGS, THERE IS NOTHING THE BUDDHA HAS NOT ABANDONED.
It is good to cut off ties:
It is absolutely true and cannot be refuted that it is always good to cut off ties. This is at the heart of what the Buddha who called himself the highest teacher, taught.
NO ONE CAN TRULY OR CORRECTLY REFUTE THE BUDDHA’S STANCE THAT IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO CUT OFF TIES, TO DISENGAGE AND THEREFORE WHOEVER ESTABLISHES TIES, WHO TELLS OTHERS IT IS GOOD TO HAVE TIES IS DELUDED AND MISLEADING OTHERS HEAPING KARMA.
The question is posed out of delusion as if their anger is justified or meaningful or the correct response to Americanism.
There is no (true) reason why Americanisms should make anyone angry because it is the inappropriate, totally unnecessary false and stressful response to Americanism and therefore there cannot be a true answer Americanisms make people angry.
The relevant response is whether Americanisms are bad & evil or true & good, there is no reason why Americanisms should make people angry except that they are emotional irrational people who understand with stirred force, their stirred force (anger) is triggered by Americanism.

South Korea’s shaky economy:
South Korea is supposed to be one of Asia’s successful tigers and most people have forgotten that it needed an IMF bailout in 1997. It seems all is not well in Korea, there is a burgeoning household debt as a result of pursuing a property bubble that threatens the South Korean economy.

S Korea's surging household debt threatens its economy
By Lucy Williamson BBC News, Seoul Drive out along Seoul's riverside highway and you pass mile after mile of concrete apartment blocks - blank beige towers built to house the capital's burgeoning population, the block numbers painted in giant letters on their outside walls.
Owning a piece of this concrete landscape has become increasingly important to Koreans, and the banks that fund them.
After the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s, banks turned their attention away from company loans towards private credit. Families were their new target customers.
Since then, household debt in South Korea has grown by an average of 13% a year, almost twice as fast as the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
It has now reached more than 800 trillion won ($750bn; £469bn), equivalent to 150% of disposable income.

The surge in household debt has the government worried, not least due to a stagnation in the real-estate market.
"The property market was seen as good bet," says Lee J Ernst, of Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC).
He says mortgages would typically have a two-or-three-year repayment holiday built in at the start, during which the property could be expected to rise in value, and so be sold at a profit before any payment was due.
"That was fine as long as property prices kept rising," he says,
"But currently that doesn't work, the market is stagnating," he adds.
Mr Lee adds that as the markets begin to stagnate, people are finding themselves caught out.
He says that they are unable to sell their property for the price they paid.
Cost of borrowing
To make matters worse for the consumers, they are facing steep interest payments as well.
More than 90% of Korea's loans have a variable interest rate, which means when interest rates here rise, so do family bills.
The Bank of Korea recently raised interest rates to try to curb inflation, which is currently running above the government's target range.
But that means families here have even less to spend.
And at a time of falling demand in the West, Korea's economy, half of which relies on exports, could use a boost at home.
The government is trying to slowly tighten banks' lending to prevent a downward spiral.
The FSC says it sees the current levels of household debt as "broadly manageable".
But, it says: "We cannot rule out a possibility that [it] would turn into threats to Korea's economy and financial markets unless we take pre-emptive measures."
In April, it re-tightened debt-to-income limits for mortgages, and plans to issue incentives to encourage more borrowers to switch to fixed-rate loans.
Credit-card debt
The risk is families with low-credit ratings will have to look elsewhere for loans.
A report by Samsung's Economic Research Institute (SERI) found credit-card spending went up by almost 10% last year, with more cards being issued, and more loans and cash advances being taken out.
More families, it said, had multiple credit cards and multiple credit-card loans, increasing the risk attached.
In June, the government announced measures to curb credit-card companies' excessive expansion, and is bringing in new tax incentives to encourage families to use debit, rather than credit, cards.
But SERI says the poorest households have more than twice the average credit-card debt. They are likely to be the ones caught in the middle of the credit crunch.
The government says it is aware of the need to protect low-income households and has announced plans to bring in extended repayment windows and micro-credit programmes to help off-set the tightening of liquidity.
Credit spending on merchandise fell slightly in the first quarter of 2011, compared with a 4.4% increase during the previous three months.
Household loans are also growing more slowly than before.
But as financial watchers here point out, with demand falling abroad, this is a transition that needs to happen slowly to avoid precipitating the very crisis Korea's trying to avoid.
The evil of property repayment holidays:
To keep the housing market bubbling authorities recklessly permit buyers repayment holidays for up to 3 years. This encourages speculators to put their names to houses without forking out money which tends to boost demand artificially raising prices that penalize genuine buyers who are forced to pay higher prices with potential dire consequences should the bubble burst.

IT REFLECTS THE GROSS FOLLY OF GOVERNMENTS EVERYWHERE THAT THEY SEE NOTHING WRONG AND PERMIT SUCH REPAYMENT HOLIDAYS.

MACC acting unlawfully:
Is it legal for Ahmad Sarbaini has not been charged to be incarcerated, let alone in oppressive conditions? There is no justification to verbally abuse him and he should have had a lawyer to represent him.
IT APPEARS MACC IS TAKING THE LAW IN THEIR OWN HANDS DOING THINGS THAT MAY BE GROSS ABUSE OF POWER AND ILLEGAL.
KUALA LUMPUR: A close friend of Ahmad Sarbaini Mohamed told the Coroner’s Court that the deceased had confided in him that he was snapped at and insulted by Malay sian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers, and had described the lock-up where he was held overnight a few days before his death as “hell on earth”.
Customs assistant director Azman Jusoh said Ahmad Sarbaini had told him on April 3 that the MACC officers had yelled at him and told him he was not “fit to wear his (Customs) uniform”.
“He told me he had kept quiet and looked at all the officers because he wanted to recognise them, and then one of them shouted at him: ‘Samseng, nak gaduh ke?’ (Gangster, do you want to fight?).

The group of 11 doctors at Tung Shin Hospital said they did not wish to enter into the polemics of the rally, but wanted to clarify 'the inconvenient truth'.
'We are outraged at the incidents, and the subsequent responses from the authorities, to the events where tear gas and chemical-laced water were shot into the compounds of Tung Shin and Chinese Maternity hospitals, two adjacent buildings along Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, with scant regard for the safety of patients, staff and the general public who were at the buildings that afternoon.
'What was most frightening and witnessed by many was the unprovoked violent assault within the hospital compounds and apprehension of several protesters who had merely run into the hospitals to seek shelter from the tear gas and the water cannons!'
The statement by the 11 professionals and willingness to provide sworn affidavits comes in the face of denials by the health minister and police that tear gas and water cannons had been aimed at the hospitals despite claims by rally participants that they had been cornered on the section of the road when the attacks began.
Their public statement is all the more significant in that it underscores a growing willingness of Malaysians to take a public stand on touchy issues.
Consider the group of 16 academics, including those from public universities, who had urged the government to release political activists arrested ahead of the so-called Bersih rally, and to allow the event to take place.
'A government that uses the laws, institutions and resources of the state to suppress or repress such activities undermines its own credibility and claim to practising democracy. The actions of the government to curb this Bersih campaign will only hurt public perception of the government's commitments to the freedoms enshrined in the Federal Constitution,' the academics said in a statement.
Civil rights societies and a number of international news publications from around the world have condemned the way in which the authorities locked down the city and arrested nearly 1,700 of the estimated tens of thousands who participated in Bersih - a civil society movement seeking free and fair elections backed by 62 non-governmental organisations, but which the government maintains is opposition-inspired.
The police had declared the rally illegal because the organisers had not obtained a police permit.

Maiden not historic ties:
Malaysia and Vatican agree on historic diplomatic link
ROME: Malaysia has agreed to establish diplomatic ties with the Holy See, with the aim of promoting mutual friendship and strengthening international co-operation.
It is maiden (first) ties rather than historic. Nothing is truly historic except in the conditioned false perception of the person that will end in torment. Something is said to be historic to make much or more than there is to it, to stir emotion ‘wow’ and it is meaningless. Thus the Buddha’s appearance in the world is not historic, it is an event of great importance or value but that does not mean it is historic.
HISTORY IS MERELY WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND SO EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED IS HISTORY AND SO EVERYTHING IS HISTORIC SO WHY BOTHER TO LABEL A PARTICULAR EVENT HISTORIC EXCEPT TO FALSELY MAKE MUCH OF IT AS IF OTHER EVENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED ARE NOT HISTORIC. THIS IS NOT WHAT PEOPLE MEAN WHEN THEY SAY AN EVENT IS HISTORIC, OR IS HISTORY BUT THEY MEAN SOMETHING ELSE, THAT IT IS FAMOUS OR ‘WOW’ OR STIRS EMOTIONS.

What has happened is merely an establishing of ties between two entities, nothing or little may come out of it, the subsequent relationship may be ho hum or even acrimonious, if it was rife with friction or it was swiftly terminated would you call it historic? How do you know the relationship will last and be fruitful?

Playing politics with the pope:
Suppose there is a sizeable crucial Christian vote eg in Sabah that you need to pander to in order to win elections and suppose your party is involved in stoking anti-Christian furore (eg Allah issue, church fire bombing) in order to appear to champion Islam to appease Muslim voters then you couldn’t possibly crack down on these people who have been inflaming religious passion and taking their law into their own hands because they are aligned to you, so you have to be seen by the Christians to be friendly to Christianity by overtures like setting up diplomatic ties with the Vatican.
THIS IS MAY BE WHAT THEY CALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS, PLAYING BOTH SIDES (MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS) FOR SELF SERVING OBJECTIVES.
Heat getting to New Yorkers:
This is a headline and it is a false, styled way of describing a situation. Because what robots say are recorded intended to be rehashed they tend to be vague or nonspecific so that they can be rehashed to fit more occasions. Thus ‘heat’ may refer to hot weather in this case or it may refer to economic or unemployment pressure.
THE TRUTH IS NOT ‘HEAT GETTING TO NEW YORKERS’, IT IS A FALSE STYLED REHASHED HEADLINE BUT THE ACCURATE DESCRIPTION IS ‘PROLONGED HOT WEATHER AFFECTING NEW YORK RESIDENTS’.
YOU MAY THINK THEY ARE SYNONYMOUS BUT THERE MAY BE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL BETWEEN THE TWO VERSIONS. THE LATTER VERSION IS PRECISE, SPECIFICALLY COMPOSED TO DESCRIBE THE SITUATION AT HAND. ‘HEAT GETTING TO NEW YORKERS’ IS MORE AMENABLE TO MEMORIZATION TO BE REHASHED TO FIT A GREATER VARIETY OF SITUATIONS.

What has ‘arguably’ got to do with the matter at hand? Suffice to say, "We are beginning the study of what may be the oldest extant primordial surface in the Solar System." Argue stirs emotion in the reader and has debt apart from being totally unneeded for the situation.
BECAUSE ‘ARGUABLY’ HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISSUE AT HAND, IT IS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY TO RAISE ‘ARGUE’ IT IS CONTROLLED INSANITY TO SPEAK THUS. THE PURPOSE OF INSERTING ARGUABLY IS TO STIR EMOTION.

The person who holds the view that there are things that are arguable or debatable and things that are not has a wrong understanding of things because in truth NOTHING is arguable or debatable because arguing or debating is actually VERBAL FIGHTING which is all about force nothing to do with reason and meaning based on holding positions without knowing it is true or holding false positions or delusions that you hold dear or falsely perceive as true.

When people says something is arguable or debatable, they actually do not mean what they say, what they mean is that even if what they say cannot be established as true, it should be considered or accepted or given credence. This too is not meritorious but unrighteous and dealing with falsity.

The story of Sarbaini’s ‘suicide’:
THE TIME HAS COME TO EXPOSE THE KILLERS OF AHMAD SARBAINI MOHAMED
D Day: 6th April
On the morning of 6th April 2011, Ahmad Sarbaini went to the Subang mosque for his dawn (Subuh) prayers. There, he met his good friend, Azman, and told him that he would be amending his earlier statement given to the MACC. In retrospect, he thought that would not be a problem because he had come to regard Sheikh Niza as a friend.
By 8.30 am, Ahmad Sarbaini was already at the KL MACC office. Within minutes, he was speaking to Sheikh Niza who was eager to record a further Cautioned Statement from Ahmad Sarbaini.
Sheikh Niza panicked when Ahmad Sarbaini told him he wished to retract his earlier confession as it was procured through fraud and deceit. Of course, Sheikh Niza hit the roof and stated clearly that it was absolutely impossible!
Ahmad Sarbaini was upset and became agitated when Sheikh Niza rejected his request outright. He pleaded desperately with Sheikh Niza and explained that he had misunderstood what the confession was about. However, Sheikh Niza flatly dismissed him and told him to report the matter to KUS Mohd Fauzi.
Then Sheikh Niza made Ahmad Sarbaini wait while he discussed this crucial turn of events with Mohd Fauzi. By then, Sheikh Niza’s tone was beginning to sound ominous to Ahmad Sarbaini.
As expected, Mohd Fauzi flipped when he was told that Ahmad Sarbaini wanted to retract his earlier statement. He warned Sheikh Niza that this would ruin both their careers as their HQ was already over the moon about Ahmad Sarbaini’s ‘extracted confession’.
Since IO Abd Ghani was sceptical when he first saw the confession, Mohd Fauzi then asked if he had spoken to Ahmad Sarbaini about this confession.
Abd Ghani was approaching retirement age and had been disillusioned when despite his seniority, bypassed for promotion and with the recent happenings in the MACC. Hence, the ambitious Mohd Fauzi -- who by now had become IO Abd Ghani’s superior was stricken with fear that IO Abd Ghani might jeopardise the investigation as Ketua Unit Siasatan (KUS).
The cause of death
KUS Mohd Fauzi directed Abd Ghani to track down Wan Zainal while he and Sheikh Niza would ‘straighten out’ Ahmad Sarbaini. Sheikh Niza was also ordered to seize Ahmad Sarbaini’s mobile phone.
Sheikh Niza brought Ahmad Sarbaini to KUS Mohd Fauzi's office, which was next door to the pantry (remember what happened to Teoh Beng Hock). Here, he was verbally abused. KUS Mohd Fauzi called Ahmad Sarbaini a disgrace to the Royal Malaysian Customs, that he was not fit to wear their uniform. Rather shaken up, Ahmad Sarbaini pleaded for pity and a drink of water.
Shockingly, they brought Ahmad Sarbaini to the pantry. Incredibly, as punishment for attempting to retract his ‘confession’, Mohd Fauzi ordered him to climb out of the window and forced him to stand on the ledge.
KUS Mohd Fauzi wanted Ahmad Sarbaini to ponder and reflect on his actions while standing on the edge as “orang macam kau ni lebih baik mati dari hidup menyusahkan orang lain”.
Nervously, Ahmad Sarbaini climbed onto the windowsill as ordered by Mohd Fauzi who continued taunting and abusing him with insults. Sheikh Niza merely looked on. In that split second, Ahmad Sarbaini’s belt got stuck on the outer part of the window and he lost his balance and his life.
And, horror of horrors, what happened to Teoh Beng Hock happened to Ahmad Sarbaini when he fell to his death onto the badminton court below.
KUS Mohd Fauzi was in a dizzy panic when what was supposed to be a threat had now turned fatal. He feared his career and future went up in smoke the moment Ahmad Sarbaini lost his balance. In shock and panic, he ran from the pantry back to his room.
Sheikh Niza immediately ran downstairs to the lobby in a state of shock and disbelief. He was at the verge of tears, regretting this tragic death.
Concocting a story
Without further delay, KUS Mohd Fauzi called everyone into his room to brainstorm and to concoct the most plausible story. Abd Ghani, Henrietta, Khalid, Kamal and also Sheikh Niza finally agreed the best storyline was that Ahmad Sarbaini had committed suicide as he was depressed that his confession could not be retracted.The Director, Hj Mohd Yusof, was also brought into the loop and the approval from HQ sought.
The script seemed good enough for a press conference that would be called by Dato’ Mustafar Ali later that day. That would be the storyline they would all narrate to anyone asking about the death.
And that would be the same story they would give when making the 911 phone call to the Police and in summoning an ambulance. And that was also why not one of these officers went downstairs to confirm whether the dead man on the badminton court was indeed Ahmad Sarbaini.
They already knew who was lying dead on the badminton court. They did not need to go downstairs to verify the identity of the dead person. They all admitted that immediately upon discovering the dead body, they huddled into KUS Mohd Fauzi’s room for a ‘conference’.
They would later rehearse this script over and over again and say that they were too afraid and were in a state of shock.
To ensure that there was no evidence as to what really happened, they erased the CCTV recordings. That was why the police audio-visual forensics analyst, ASP Fauziah Che Mat, told the Coroner that the CCTV recordings had been tampered with.
According to ASP Fauziah, more than 22 hours of recordings from the three-dozen CCTV cameras in the building were ‘interrupted by someone who has expertise in using CCTVs’ by ‘changing of operation on the set, manually’.
Concealing the true cause of death
However, after running this story past that brilliant legal mind, Dato Seri Mohd Shafee Abdullah, MACC was told that the suicide story would not go down well with the Malaysian public.
Firstly, another suicide theory would be too close to the Teoh Beng Hock ‘suicide’.
Secondly, other than the ‘confession’, there was no other evidence of Ahmad Sarbaini’s involvement in any corrupt activities. Confessions are mostly procured through torture and intimidation. Without any tangible evidence, the story would not be plausible.
The Police collaborated with the MACC in their attempt to conceal the real cause of Ahmad Sarbaini’s death. The scratch marks on Ahmad Sarbaini’s belt and the paint stains on his pants would be used as ‘evidence’ to explain that he was trying to make a hasty escape by jumping onto the roof from the pantry.
Unfortunately, the Coroner had visited the site and anyone who has been to that building would know that jumping onto that roof would lead nowhere. As such, that could not ever have been an escape route!
The Killers and the Conspirators
We now know the identities of Ahmad Sarbaini’s killers and conspirators. It is for the Coroner to make that finding of the cause of death and thereafter for AG Gani Patail as the Public Prosecutor to charge these people.
In the meantime, to do justice to this poor deceased man and his family, let it be known that other than the so-called ‘confession’ -- which was obtained through deception and threats -- there is no evidence to show that the late Ahmad Sarbaini was involved in any corrupt practices.
All of the MACC witnesses have admitted that fact in court during the Inquest. Also, the MACC’s own investigations and audit on his and his family's assets did not disclose any extraordinary wealth -- as what we may have found in recent disclosures of the assets of our politicians and leaders.
So let us allow the soul of Ahmad Sarbaini to rest in peace and offer his grief-stricken widow some respite and respect.
Chua: It’s good to establish ties with Vatican
It is not up to the individual to determine what is good or bad, it is objective what is good and what is bad and if what you perceive is good is neither good nor bad or is bad then that is wrong view that leads to perdition. There may be ulterior motive to say it is good in order to (self-serving) praise the ruling elite’s move.
The Buddha said cessation is good and that is absolutely true, applies to everyone even if you refuse. Eg stopping talking and thinking is good, to talk and think is bad.
To be involved in this world is bad, to withdraw or dissociate is good, establishing ties with the Vatican is a form of involvement and therefore is bad and it applies to everyone. Jesus said you should deny yourself and you do not deny yourself by undertaking and involving yourself.
IF YOU WANT TO PUBLICIZE AND FIND AN EXCUSE TO UP PLAY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TIES, YOU SAY IT IS GOOD, BUT WHETHER SOMETHING IS GOOD OR NOT OR HOW MUCH GOOD IF ANY THERE IS IN IT IS OBJECTIVE AND IF THERE IS NOT MUCH GOOD IN IT THEN YOU ARE FOOLISHLY TAKING UPON YOURSELF KARMA TELLING OTHERS IT IS GOOD.
IT IS GOOD NOT TO TAKE WHAT IS NOT GIVEN BUT WHETHER ESTABLISHING TIES WITH THE VATICAN IS GOOD AS YOU TOUT IS ANOTHER MATTER THAT HAS SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES FOR ITS CHAMPION.
We are one and the same
We are ‘we’ never ‘one and the same’ and it is practicing controlled insanity to say so for emotional purposes, never true reason.
IF YOU ARE WISE YOU WILL LEAVE ‘WE’ AS ‘WE’ AND NOT TRY TO BE TOO CLEVER TO SAY ‘WE ARE ONE AND THE SAME’ BECAUSE THAT IS NEVER SO.

In enlightenment, as the Buddha said, they become the One and in becoming the One they become the All.
On earth they are never one except in a person’s delusion because beings here are self-centred, selfish, do not wish to share but prefer to hoard to the exclusion of others, so how can they ever be truly one? Further they are never the same because there is a vast disparity in intelligence, discernment, good and badness and physical endowments.
In heaven they are truly united, truly one as Jesus said, as he is in his Father and his Father is in him, but they are never the same, Jesus said his Father is greater than him, angels (devas) are not the same as the brahmas, the ruler of the gods is not the same as the four great kings is not the same as the Father.
The Buddha said in enlightenment the being becomes the One from which all beings from the loftiest to the lowest emanates and in becoming the One he becomes the All.
HENCE BEINGS HERE ARE NEVER TRULY ONE AND NEVER THE SAME, IN HEAVEN THEY ARE TRULY ONE BUT NEVER THE SAME.
"If he wants, he wields manifold supranormal powers. Having been one he becomes many; having been many he becomes one. He appears. He vanishes. He goes unimpeded through walls, and mountains. He dives in and out of the earth. He walks on water without sinking as if it were dry land. Sitting crosslegged he flies through the air. With his hand he touches and strokes even the sun and moon. He exercises influence with his body even as far as the Brahma worlds. He can witness this for himself whenever there is an opening.
What truly differentiates men:
There is only one way that truly distinguishes men, makes men truly different from each other and it is how they distinguish themselves by conduct and knowledge. Whoever whose conduct and knowledge is higher or greater than the other is the higher.
MEN ARE NEVER THE SAME, THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER AND WHAT TRULY DIFFERENTIATES, DISTINGUISHES THEM IS THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND CONDUCT. EVEN IN ENLIGHTENMENT, THE BUDDHA IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY WHILST HIS DEPUTY SARIPPUTA IS CO-EQUAL IN WISDOM, MONGGALANA IS CO-EQUAL IN SUPERNATURAL POWERS WHILST KASSAPA IS CO-EQUAL IN RESTRAINT OR DISCIPLINE.

The mass of wisdom, the mass of virtues and the mass of concentration of a perfect one.
Bhikkhus, the bhikkhu further endowed with three things is complete, reached the summit, the end of the holy life, perfect peace and has become the chief among gods and men. What three?
The miracles of psychic powers, the miracles of mind reading and character reading and the miracles of advising (teaching).

It is not good to establish ties:
It is not good to establish ties no matter what the entity you establish ties with but it is what you subsequently do with the ties that may be good or bad or totally useless.
Thus if after a period of establishing ties with the Vatican you can see useful benefits from the ties you can say the ties has benefits or are good. Before seeing any fruits from the ties, you are presumptuous, jumping to unwarranted conclusion that is training yourself and others in false logic to say, ‘it is good to establish ties with the Vatican’. Not everyone who embraces Buddhism benefits from it, there are those who are excommunicated or bring disrepute to Buddhism and so it is not necessarily good to join or establish ties with Buddhism.
As the Buddha taught, all contact is suffering and therefore bad, all cessation or withdrawal of contact is cessation of suffering and therefore good. Contact or establishing ties demands work and maintenance, is stressful no matter how pleasurable or beneficial, all cessation of contact is the end of suffering.
EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE ESTABLISHED PHYSICAL CESSATION OF CONTACT (EG WITH GAMBLING, A VOLUPTUOUS GIRL, DELICIOUS FOOD) THERE IS STILL MENTAL CONTACT (THEY STILL CRAVE OR LUST FOR GAMBLING, THAT VOLUPTUOUS GIRL OR LUSCIOUS FOODS) AND SO THEY HAVE NEVER TRULY EXPERIENCED CESSATION OF CONTACT TO KNOW IT IS ESCAPE FROM SUFFERING AND ESTABLISHMENT OF CONTACT IS ALWAYS SUFFERING.
ESTABLISHMENT OF CONTACT WITH WHAT IS WHOLESOME EG THE BUDDHA IS GOOD COMPARED WITH CONTACT TO WHAT IS UNWHOLESOME BUT EVEN THIS CONTACT WITH THE WHOLESOME IS BAD COMPARED WITH AN ABSOLUTE STOPPING OF ALL CONTACT OR TIES WHICH ORDINARY PEOPLE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED.
WHATEVER CONTACT OR TIES HOWEVER WHOLESOME CANNOT BE COMPARED WITH A TRUE CESSATION OF ALL CONTACT OR TIES. THE BUDDHA SAID HE HAS CUT OFF ALL TIES, UNLIKE OTHER BEINGS, THERE IS NOTHING THE BUDDHA HAS NOT ABANDONED.
It is good to cut off ties:
It is absolutely true and cannot be refuted that it is always good to cut off ties. This is at the heart of what the Buddha who called himself the highest teacher, taught.
NO ONE CAN TRULY OR CORRECTLY REFUTE THE BUDDHA’S STANCE THAT IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO CUT OFF TIES, TO DISENGAGE AND THEREFORE WHOEVER ESTABLISHES TIES, WHO TELLS OTHERS IT IS GOOD TO HAVE TIES IS DELUDED AND MISLEADING OTHERS HEAPING KARMA.
