Two snakes joined at the tail:
The two (always) opposite acting mental forces present in the minds of all beings can be compared to two snakes joined at their tails so that whenever one pulls it has to drag the other along, it is always a tiring tussle between the two in which the two joined snakes move in the direction of the winner with the loser dragged along backwards.
In order for a person to do or say something, his force of going against self must overcome the resistance of the opposite acting force of self-preservation, it must drag along by its tail the force of self-preservation pulling in the opposite direction, if the resistance is too great, cannot be overcome, he cannot accomplish the action. Thus when a man stirs up courage to tell a girl “I love you” or is tempted to pinch some unguarded money, his force of going against self must overcome the automatic resistance of the force of self preservation before he can successfully say “I love you” or pinch the money.
Because the action of the force of going against self is always resisted by the opposite pulling force of self preservation, its action is always controlled or modulated and the consciousness is shielded from the full impact of its actions. On occasions when the force of self-preservation is flagging or suddenly gives up pulling in the opposite direction completely, the action of the force of going against self is then not resisted, it suddenly surges in strength and speed and that is experienced as HURT.
THUS WHEN THE PERSON’S MENTAL FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS STIRRING IN SPEED AND STRENGTH ATTRACTIVELY OR REPULSIVELY WITH THE FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION RESISTING AND MODULATING ITS STIRRING, THE PERSON EXPERIENCES LIKE OR DISLIKE. AT EXTREMES OR VIOLENTLY STIRRED LIKE AND DISLIKE, THE FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION STRUGGLES TO CONTROL THE FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF AND SO HE EXPERIENCES STRESS AND HURT.
WHEN THE PERSON’S MENTAL FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS STIRRED IN ACCELERATING SPEED AND STRENGTH AND HIS FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION SUDDENLY FAILS TO RESIST OR PULL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THEN THIS SUDDEN NAKED UNRESISTED OR UNCONTROLLED SURGE IN SPEED AND STRENGTH OF THE FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS EXPERIENCED AS THE EMOTION OF HURT THAT CAN BE SEARING AND HE STRUGGLES TO CONTROL.
FEAR IS THE OPPOSITE TO HURT, WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS (EG LOUD EXPLOSION) CAUSES A PERSON’S MENTAL FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF TO SUDDENLY DROP IN SPEED AND STRENGTH, THE SURGE IN SPEED AND STRENGTH OF THE NOW UNOPPOSED FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION ACTS UNSHIELDED OR UNCONTROLLED ON THE CONSCIOUSNESS CAUSING FEAR TO ARISE THAT TENDS TO MAKE THE PERSON DROP WHAT HE IS DOING AND RETREAT OR RUN AWAY.
CONFUSION IS AN EMOTION EXPERIENCED WHEN THE PERSON’S FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS STIRRING AIMLESSLY, IN DISORGANISED, CHANGING DIRECTION, SPEED AND STRENGTH WITHOUT RATIONAL PURPOSE. THIS AIMLESS STIRRING OF HIS FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS EXPERIENCED AS TURMOIL IF IT IS VIOLENT AND TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL OF HIS FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION.
SADNESS IS AN EMOTION THAT OCCURS WHEN THE PERSON’S MENTAL FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS PROLONGING OUT OF CONTROL, INVOLUNTARILY FOR NO PURPOSE AND THE PERSON’S FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION STRUGGLES OR CANNOT STOP IT PROLONGING. NORMALLY THE PERSON’S MENTAL FORCE OF GOING AGAINST SELF IS PROLONGING FOR A PURPOSE, TO FASHION THE STYLE THAT IS NEEDED TO IMPRESS, PLEASE, INTIMIDATE AND DOMINATE OTHERS OR TO EXPERIENCE THE DELUDED ‘PLEASURE’ OF ONE’S MENTAL FORCE PROLONGING. AT TIMES WHEN THIS PROLONGING GETS OUT OF CONTROL, CANNOT BE STOPPED OR THE FORCE OF SELF PRESERVATION STRUGGLES OR FAILS TO CONTROL THIS PROLONGING, SADNESS EVEN DEPRESSION ENSUES.
THUS ALL THE EMOTIONS (LIKE, DISLIKE, SADNESS, HURT, CONFUSION AND FEAR) CAN BE EXPLAINED BY THE PRESENCE OF TWO FORCES ALWAYS ACTING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS EITHER OF WHOSE RESISTANCE MUST BE OVERCOME BEFORE ANY ACTIVITY (SPEAKING OR DOING SOMETHING) CAN BEGIN AND DEPENDING ON WHETHER EACH FORCE’S ACTIVITY IS CONTROLLED (LIKE AND DISLIKE) OR ITS CONTROL MOMENTARILY LOST SO THAT ONE OR THE OTHER BECOMES ASCENDANT UNOPPOSED, YOU GET HURT OR FEAR.
