“Too old to be rich” is a false unwarranted conclusion. The reality is more like “China’s aging population may handicap its economy” and it is not necessarily correct because an aging population can be offset by mechanisation and computerisation. What took an army to build (Great Wall) can today be built faster by a much smaller band of workers aided by machinery and computerization.

Unless it is definite or true, you cannot say ‘too old to be rich’ which actually pertains to a person not a population. Even though a population is aging, there are still very young and fit people amongst them and so the population is not too old. A person can be too old but not a population that though aging still contains substantial numbers who are fit and young and not too old as implied.

A PERSON CAN BE TOO OLD BUT NOT A POPULATION THAT ALTHOUGH AGING, CONTAINS MANY YOUNG AND FIT AND AN AGING POPULATION IS NOT NECESSARILY AN INSURMOUNTABLE OBSTACLE TO ECONOMIC PROGRESS, MECHANISATION AND COMPUTERISATION MAY REDRESS.

THUS IT IS A SILLY, FACILE, WRONG CONCLUSION THAT HAS KARMA ATTACHED TO SAY ‘TOO OLD TO BE RICH’ AS IF IT IS TRUE JUST BECAUSE CHINA’S AGING DEMOGRAPHICS MAY CRIMP ITS ECONOMIC PROGRESS.

No right to say what may be true is true:

Can he be certain that China is too old to be rich? If he cannot be certain, he has no right to say ‘too old to be rich’ as if it is an irrefutable fact.

If you speak without knowing what you say is true, you must generate self-resistance that leads to stress and conditions you to (always, automatically) resist whatever you say or do.

Everything that can be perceived through the senses (sight, sound, taste, smell and touch) has a nature that can be correctly understood as exactly what it is. If a being incorrectly understands what he perceives or does not know what the nature of what he perceived is, he must generate resistance in himself because there is risk and danger to self in not being able to understand what is happening or understanding it incorrectly.

A person who correctly understands whatever is presented to him is in no perplexity, he does not need to generate resistance to what he sees because he knows truly what he sees. Thus if I know the statement presented that there is a silver lining in JPM’ $2 billion loss is false, delusional, I do not need to trouble myself contemplating or digesting it or accepting it against resistance but I see and know it is nonsense. It is only a person who does not know what to make of the statement, who embraces the statement as true/sensible when it is false/nonsense who must stir resistance.

You think smelling, tasting and touching is elementary, what is there to correctly understand what you smell, taste and touch but here again you are wrong. You do not know what to make of what you smell, taste or touch or you understand it falsely as desirable, good and real when as the Buddha, who truly sees, taught, all that is smelt, tasted, touched is deceptive, empty & harmful because they lead to suffering and death when there is an escape from suffering and death.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF WHAT YOU SMELL, TASTE AND TOUCH OR YOU THINK YOU TRULY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU SMELL, TASTE AND TOUCH BUT YOU MAY BE DELUDED, YOU DO NOT OR UNDERSTAND WRONGLY WHAT YOU SMELL, TASTE AND TOUCH. YOU ARE REPULSED BY THE SMELL OF SHIT AND ATTRACTED BY THE SMELL OF PERFUME AND BOTH ARE FALSE, FORCE BASED BLIND UNDERSTANDING OF THE NATURE OF THE SMELL OF SHIT OR PERFUME. THE SMELL OF A ROTTING CARCASS CAN MAKE YOU VOMIT BUT IT CANNOT MAKE A BUDDHA WHO TRULY UNDERSTANDS, VOMIT. IF A PERSON TRULY UNDERSTANDS WHATEVER HE PERCEIVES, HE DOES NOT NEED TO STIR RESISTANCE AND SO HE IS NOT STRESSED/DISTRESSED BY WHATEVER HE SEES, HEAR, SMELLS, TASTES AND TOUCHES.

The goal of meditation is stopping:

There is only one true goal in meditation and it is (progressively) stopping the (mindless) activation of a person’s mental force. If you have not succeeded in stopping then you have meditated in vain.

The first fundamental, indispensable goal or milestone in meditation is to achieve the stopping of the mindless incessant prolonging, changing speed and strength of one’s mental force to achieve the first higher state or concentration of mind.

SO LONG AS A PERSON HAS NOT ACHIEVED THE STOPPING OF THE INCESSANT PROLONGING, CHANGING SPEED AND STRENGTH OF HIS MENTAL FORCE, HE HAS NOT ACHIEVED THE FIRST HIGHER CONCENTRATION OF HIS MIND THAT GIVES ONE ETERNITY IN HEAVENLY BLISS.

The second milestone is to achieve the cessation of thinking, to fully conscious extinguish all thinking so that one’s mind becomes one pointed, united that gives a happier existence and two eternities in heaven.

THE SECOND MILESTONE OR ACHIEVEMENT IN CESSATION IS THE CESSATION OF ALL THINKING TO BECOME ONE POINTED, CONCENTRATED IN MIND.

The third higher milestone is to stop one’s mental force from being stirred attractively or repulsively to like or dislike what is happening so as to achieve the third higher concentration of mind that gives four eternities in heaven.

The fourth higher milestone is to stop all perceptions of harmful force to experience neither pain nor pleasure that gives the highest happiness and 500 eternities in heaven according to the Buddha.

THE GOAL OR TARGET OF (TRUE) MEDITATION IS SIMPLE, UNCOMPLICATED, IT IS TO PROGRESSIVELY STOP THE (HARMFUL) ACTIVITIES OF ONE’S MENTAL FORCE. FIRST STOP ITS PROLONGING, CHANGING SPEED AND STRENGTH, NEXT TO STOP IT DRIVING THINKING THEN STIRRING TO LIKE OR DISLIKE AND FINALLY TO STOP ALL PERCEPTIONS OF FORCE TO EXPERIENCE NEITHER PAIN NOR PLEASURE.

AND SO ANYONE WHO LIKES OR DISLIKES WHAT HE SMELLS HAS WRONG UNDERSTANDING THAT MUST STIR RESISTANCE AND LEADS TO STRESS. WHATEVER HE PERCEIVES (SEES, HEARS, SMELLS, TASTES AND TOUCH) MUST LEAD TO STRESS BECAUSE HE UNDERSTANDS FALSELY AND MUST RESIST.

If not his understanding then a potent basis of action:

Even if a person’s stirred emotions (like, dislike, sadness, agitation and fear) is not considered his understanding, it is a common potent if not ubiquitous source of emotional people’s actions.

Repulsed by the bad smell, people hold their breath which means it is the repulsion (dislike) that drives them into action (hold breath). And so it is anger not reason that drives people to retort and engage in fights which means to say their stirred mental force is the basis of the action to retort or fight.

Seized by lust, the smitten man moves to rape a girl which means to say his action is driven by his stirred mental force not reason.

EVEN IF YOU REFUTE THAT PEOPLE’S STIRRED EMOTIONS IS ACTUALLY THEIR (MEANINGLESS FORCE BASED) UNDERSTANDING OF AN EVENT, IT IS A MAJOR IF NOT COMPELLING OR IRRESISTIBLE BASIS FOR ACTION. AND WHENEVER A PERSON ACTS BASED ON STIRRED BLIND FORCE INSTEAD OF TRUE UNDERSTANDING AS IT ACTUALLY IS, HE MUST STIR RESISTANCE THAT LEADS TO STRESS BECAUSE HIS ACTION IS BLIND, DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY FATAL.

The Olympics & Lunatic Mankind:

The discerning person can tell a lot about the future awaiting mankind from the conduct of the coming Olympics.

Not interested in twirling my hair anymore:

Many people restlessly twirl a lock of their hair to derive pleasure from the mild contact with force that their twirling generates. In the past I was episodically addicted to such mindless, addictive and actually tormenting twirling but recently when my hair has grown quite long that it intrudes, inviting me to twirl the growing sideburns, I desisted after a very brief dalliance because rather than a pleasure, I found it disagreeable, suffering.

Why the change?

It is not because I am a disciplinarian denying myself pleasure but nowadays my mind’s concentration is higher and steadier such that it is happy in itself and the addictive meaningless twirling is actually an irritation rather than addition to the happiness I already experience.

Predatory Facebook Listing:

This world approves, sees nothing wrong with the shenanigans of the Facebook listing that typifies new issues in recent years, it is all vested and investment banks and owners of the shares are out to make a killing that is at the expense of the system, plunders the system.

The offer price is obviously calculated to extract the maximal profit that can be obtained (without work being done) from foolish investors and in Facebook case they even increased the number of shares offered to exploit demand. When the company is listed, underwriters or the investment banks act to support prices, they push up prices when there is little selling pressure and sell when buyers emerge and they do not allow prices to fall below a certain level to give the appearance that the share is worth that much.

All these manipulators are driven by greed and take risks (not with their money but with borrowed money) and with sentiment and demand weak, the underwriters are unable to support prices for too long and so Facebook has now weakened because its evaluations is way above its profitability.

Investment banking underwriters are likely using borrowed money (eg money deposited in retail banks linked to their banks) and if their share manipulation backfire and they are left with massive losses, they go for bailouts.

(Look who is calling others stupid, if you end up in hell for an eternity you will appear even more stupid).

Idle chatter can send you to hell:

Ordinary people are kidding themselves if they think they do not chatter idly. Faced with social pressures they engage each other in frivolous topics like the weather, their golf, their children, their cars and what nots. It is not for anyone to deny what they say is idle chatter, for one who discerns, idle chatter is unmistakeable, cannot be denied and it has deadly consequences according to the Buddha.

THE THINGS PEOPLE DO WITHOUT THINKING, SNUFFING OUT LIVES OF INSECTS, ANIMALS, TELLING FALSITIES (CLOTHED AS TRUTH), ILLICIT SEXUAL BEHAVIOR, INDULGING IN DIVISIVE SPEECH HAVE DEADLY EVEN HELLISH CONSEQUENCES ACCORDING TO THE BUDDHA THAT YOU WILL FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF AFTER YOU DEPART.

Vipaka Sutta: Results

"Monks, the taking of life -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from the taking of life is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to a short life span.

"Stealing -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from stealing is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to the loss of one's wealth.

"Illicit sexual behavior -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from illicit sexual behavior is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to rivalry & revenge.

"Telling falsehoods -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from telling falsehoods is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to being falsely accused.

"Divisive tale-bearing -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from divisive tale-bearing is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to the breaking of one's friendships.

"Harsh speech -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from harsh speech is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to unappealing sounds.

"Frivolous chattering -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from frivolous chattering is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to words that aren't worth taking to heart.

"The drinking of fermented & distilled liquors -- when indulged in, developed, & pursued -- is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from drinking fermented & distilled liquors is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to mental derangement."

Address your own shortcomings instead of others:

It is not the shortcomings of Muslims that will send you to eternal punishment but it is your own shortcomings and so the wise person will pay attention to eradicate his own sinful ways rather than hurling diatribes at real or imagined shortcomings of others.

THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE BLIND IF THEY CANNOT FIND SERIOUS SHORTCOMINGS IN THEMSELVES THAT WILL DOOM THEM TO TERRIBLE EXTENDED SUFFERNG FAR MORE THAN WHATEVER PLEASURE AND HAPPINESS THEY CAN SELFISHLY EXTRACT FROM THEIR BRIEF SOJOURN HERE. THE WISE PERSON WILL IDENTIFY AND ADDRESS HIS OWN SHORTCOMINGS RATHER THAN LOOK WRATHFULLY AT THE SHORTCOMINGS OF OTHERS.
