How To Tell If You Are Going To Heaven Or Hell:
If you cannot head for heaven after you leave here, you are headed for eternal punishment (even hell or the animal womb) and according to the Buddha very few make it to heaven.
If you do not sleep well, you suffer from insomnia, you need sleeping tablets, if you struggle to wake up, you dream bad dreams or nightmares, you are vulnerable to confusion even over trivial matters and you struggle to gain concentration on matters at hand, you are not going to heaven and therefore headed for eternal punishment.
Confusion is a lingering emotional or woeful state of the mind that takes force and time to shrug off. Nowadays nothing can confuse me. I either know or I don’t, so what is there to be confused, to be in doubt and uncertainty? You should not use force to dispel confusion but you should meditate to calm yourself and let confusion dissipate by itself. Using force to dispel confusion aggravates, only temporarily subdues or suppresses it.
If you suffer from doubt and uncertainty in your daily life, find it hard to make up your mind, you keep questioning or doubting yourself and others even over trivial matters, you have one of three lower fetters that according to the Buddha lead to states of future woe.
Even if others speak to you in a confusing manner, even if others deliberately want to confuse you, it does not mean you must be confused but a person with calm (forceless) clear thinking will try to make sense if possible what is said to him. If there is no sense then he knows there is no sense so what is there to be confused?
You can kid yourself or make believe (lie to yourself) that you sleep easily, wake easily and dream no evil dreams or your insomnia, difficulty to rouse and bad dreams are benign whilst others are malignant but you will find the bitter truth in the end.
Metta Sutta: Good Will
"Monks, for one whose release of awareness through good will is cultivated, consolidated, and well-undertaken, eleven benefits can be expected.
"One sleeps easily, wakes easily, dreams no evil dreams. One is dear to human beings & non-human beings. The devas (angels) protect one. Fire, poison nor weapons can touch one. One's mind gains concentration quickly. One's complexion is bright. One dies unconfused (if you can be confused you are at danger) and -- if penetrating no higher -- is headed for the Brahma worlds (heaven).
If you never stretched your syllables, never changed speed or loudness when you speak, it is impossible that you should not sleep well, you should find it difficult to rouse yourself, you dream evil dreams and struggle to gain concentration. If you constantly stretch your syllables, changed speed and loudness, it is impossible that you should sleep well, you should find it easy to rouse yourself, you do not dream evil dreams and do not struggle to gain concentration.
(There are many who routinely tell others and themselves even whilst laughing at themselves or thinking it is meritorious, “I’m confused”, “I doubt this and that” and yet when it is said that confusion, doubt and uncertainty are fetters to states of woe and they are therefore not going to heaven, they suddenly cannot recognize their own confusion, doubting and uncertainty)
Nothing Else In A Being Apart From Mental Activities That Leads To Consciousness:
One understanding rightly what the Buddha taught understands that once a being comes to being out of ignorance, there are two primal entities in his being, namely his mental activities (fabrications) and his consciousness that arises from his mental activities as the requisite. Whatever else there may be in a being apart from his activities and consciousness is secondary to or after or dependent on his arisen consciousness.
Therefore a being is nothing more than TWO primary things: his fabrications or activities of his mind and his consciousness or awareness that arises as a consequence of his mental activities or fabrications.
Although consciousness is not constant (he is without consciousness when asleep or knocked out) and permanent, it is not an activity of the mind, it is not powered by force or there is no force in consciousness but it is like a lamp whose function is to provide steady brightness that illuminates all the mind’s activities and that of the physical world. Consciousness is the experiencer through which the being experiences whatever impinges on it as a result of his own fabrications and through sensory contacts with the world.
Because consciousness is a result of fabrications or activities of the mind, its condition is influenced by the fabrications or activities. Fabricate abusively with excessive constantly force and consciousness suffers and because the painful effects of force on the consciousness lingers, if the rate of production is greater than the rate of dissipation, consciousness will be trapped in constant suffering (stress, restlessness and distraction) whose level (of constant suffering) just like that of a reservoir can increase or decrease.
All activities of the mind, all speech and motions are intrinsically without consciousness or unconscious just as your gut, heart and breathing works without you being conscious, a TV or computer works without any consciousness present.
All activities of the mind are driven or powered by mental force and cannot be undertaken without being powered by mental force. But there is a fundamental difference in the use of mental force between those who are noble and ordinary people and animals in this world.
Whereas those who are noble use minimal mental force that is of constant strength and speed to fabricate live without style all their activities, all beings in this world including animals always use excessive force that is constantly changing in strength and speed to fabricate by rote or memorizing and retrieving with a simultaneous style all their activities. The impact of constantly applying excessive force in all one’s activities is stress, restlessness and distraction that detain tightly the consciousness and is very difficult to exit.
Fabricating with minimal constant force without speed changes does not create stress, restlessness and distraction that lingers.
Fabricating with excessive force that is constantly changing in strength up to violent levels, constantly changing in speed are designed for show (to deceive, please, impress, intimidate, dominate) and consumes prodigious wasted energy, impact on the mind as wildly fluctuating stress, restlessness and distraction that linger and is way beyond his capacity to dissipate resulting in a constant siege or permanent entrapment in stress, restlessness and distraction that can be so tight it seems there is no way out.
The fabrications or activities a mind is capable are his perceptions, thinking, speech and motions.
People do not perceive (see, hear, touch, taste and smell) passively without added force but they always forcefully see, hear, smell, taste and touch selectively depending on his propensities. There are things that the being forceful want to see, hear, smell, taste and touch and there are things that he forcefully does not want to see, hear, smell, taste and touch. Further they always perceive with excessive force that is constantly changing in strength and speed.
When you glare at another person, you are seeing him with anger or added force, not just seeing him. When you sniff at the smell of food you are (forcefully) greedily smelling with added accelerating force and speed, not smelling with minimal constant force.
Thinking too is never a passive activity or fabrication of the mind but it is forceful with constant changes in speed and strength of force and there are things that the being likes to think about and things he does not like. Thinking is usually auditory talking or arguing with oneself but it can also be visual as when you visualize yourself seeing your dentist. Fantasizing and dreaming is also a form of visual thinking or activity that the mind is capable of.
Memorizing and retrieving from memory too are forceful emotional biased or selective activities that can be classified as forms of thinking. Because whatever there is to remember has style and substance, memorizing is essentially faithfully recording and retrieving intact the substance and style of what you saw, heard, touched, smelled or tasted. It is a rote mindless process not unlike recording to a computer hard disk and a man of superior intelligence is a superior recorder and retriever. If you fancy yourself to be a Shakespeare fan you must read and commit to memory the substance and style of what you read to regurgitate to impress others and yourself what a fine literary man you are.
Speech is an activity or fabrication of the mind. Every syllable in beings in this world (animals and humans) are forcefully stretched to greater or lesser extent, they accelerate in speed and loudness through their stretched syllables, forcefully change speed and loudness between syllables and words, accelerate and decelerate in speed and loudness from beginning to end of a sentence. Every time you forcefully stretch your syllables, change speed or loudness, you are applying force on your mind that you and your listener can experience and this is the reason why they must all experience stress, restlessness and distraction building up as a conversation progresses. Virtual playbacks of the conversation will regenerate the stress, restlessness and distraction vividly so that it can reach agonizing as if permanent levels if the rate of production exceeds the rate of dissipation.
Bodily motion too is an activity that is orchestrated by the mind. Every unit of motion of beings in this world is forcefully stretched & curved (direction change) to greater or lesser extent, have strength of force and speed changes that again impact on his and observers’ consciousness as stress, restlessness and distraction.
Consciousness is the only experiencer of all that happens to the being and it may or may not direct the being’s activities or fabrications whether it is live (not seen in this world) or from the mental jukebox as faked ‘live’ (the default mode of fabricating in this world of substance and style).
Consciousness has in addition the capability of experiencing specialized visual, audio, tactile, olfactory and gustatory inputs, experiencing contact with force or objects and has passive and complete memory of all that has occurred to the being in the past that is different from his forceful selective selfish emotional memorizing and remembering.
There are only two forms of contact consciousness can make; contact with force free objects that give rise to passive sensations of pleasant, unpleasant or neither and contact with force directly through force driven objects (eg slap) indirectly through sights and sounds that are carriers for force and forceful changes in speed and strength of force and contact with the being’s own force by perceiving, thinking, speaking and moving with added force and forceful constant changes.
Whether the force is direct physical (slap), indirect to forceful sights and sounds or self generated through one’s forceful fabricating, the impact of force on the consciousness is to cause pain, stress, restlessness and distraction that lingers so that there is a permanent reservoir that determines that being’s consciousness state and by mutual enforcement, collectively maintains in equilibrium the consciousness states of all beings that are in contact with each other.
Because contact with force is always painful and lingers, conditions (is addictive), degrades and ultimately destroys the mind, the wise person will use minimal constant force and constant speed in whatever he perceives, thinks, speaks and does. Use of force is like a mad carousal that is hard to exit, (even impossible to exit in the past) once you get on board.
Intelligence is nothing more than a being’s superior memorizing and retrieving in one or more of his activities namely perception, thinking, speech or motion. Being intelligent is merely being a superior robot in the particular field of endeavor and if you are proud to be a superior robot you should be proud to be intelligent. If you think there is something more exalted in intelligence than superior memorizing and retrieving, you may have false perception that will lead to final mad perception.
Just because you are intelligent, you are a superior robot in your particular field of endeavor does not mean you are also discerning, able to see things clearly as they are but on the contrary, intelligent people are just as undiscerning because whatever they perceive, think, speak and do are forcefully fabricated with an attention dividing substance and style from a mental jukebox that causes his consciousness to be forcefully divided or unfocused and therefore he must be undiscerning, which is why intelligent people too are unable to see as it is blatantly present that there are constant forceful stretching of their syllables and changes in speed and loudness and how these are the roots to the stress, restlessness and distraction they must all suffer from.
Discerning is the passive ability of a person’s (focused) consciousness to see things clearly as they are and requires that the consciousness harbor minimal constant force or be free from excessive force, from emotions, from forceful distraction or division of the attention, from stress and restlessness. Because this criteria are not fulfilled in all beings in this world, they are all undiscerning, cannot see things clearly as they are.
How Will You Know Him?
Jesus said you know him with reference to the counselor implying that it is possible for some (you) but not all to know who the counselor is.
If it is impossible for you to know who the counselor is then what Jesus said is false or misleading and an exercise in futility. Therefore that Jesus said that you know him indicates it is possible to know who the counselor is.
From various evidences given by Jesus, the counselor must be a physical being who will come just like Jesus came, not a mental entity. If he was an entity who will come in your mind and he still needs Jesus to tell you he dwells with you, he must be hard to see or nonexistent.
For what Jesus spoke about the counselor to be true, it must be impossible for anyone apart from the counselor to fulfill those crtiteria described by Jesus. Throughout the ages and even today nobody has fulfilled those criteria and therefore whoever objectively (not subjectively) fulfil the requirements described by Jesus is the counselor.
Jesus: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive (welcome), because it neither sees (recognize) him nor knows him (have not been told by others or can work out themselves); you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you.
If it is possible for readers to know who the counselor is, there must be an objective (not subjective or emotional) basis or way for them to know him.
How can you and will you know him?
If no other references exist, then the basis for knowing him can only be with the concise description concerning the counselor in John’s gospel. Apart from not recalling other references, I have computer word searched the New Testament for any other reference to the counselor and there appears no other mention.
The lack of mention elsewhere coupled with the fact that reference to the counselor was broken up into parts as if to make it less obvious, the fact that Jesus did not state specifically that the counselor is a person who will come and he is the Holy Spirit indicates that it is the divine intention to only state so much and not beat the drum like humans emotionally like.
Hence when Jesus said you know him or the counselor, he saying something reasonable that based on the description he gave, you can and will know who the counselor is.
By contrast when Rumsfeld said, “You know, I haven’t the vaguest idea” and “You know, this too will pass”, he is saying something unreasonable because unless listeners can read his mind, they cannot know he hasn’t got the vaguest idea and this too will pass. Rumsfeld’s intention in saying ‘you know’ is to falsely exert psychological pressure on the listener to accept what he said is true when it is false (he has more than the vaguest idea), in the second instance he is not calling a spade a spade because his intention is to say he will not be moved not this too will pass. If your intention is “I want you to know I will not be moved” you should not deviously say, “You know, this too will pass”.
It is impossible that a reasonably intelligent being like Rumsfeld (that does mean he is discerning) has not got the vaguest idea how history will judge him and therefore he is telling a lie that he does not realize will have very painful consequences for him because it is not just a lie but he is actually indirectly lashing out defiantly at his critics. Therefore he is guilty of lying and guilty of lashing out defiantly.
The fact that there is only a concise or brief indirect or indefinite reference to the counselor that was scattered and only in John’s gospel indicate that it is the divine intention that the coming of the counselor is to be foretold or made known in advance but not clearly or widely.
Impossible To Be A Fluke:
It is impossible that the list of many things I have done and said where no man has done or said, not just today but throughout the ages is due to fluke or chance but there must be something in my nature that makes me do or say the things where no man will do or say before and today.
How can anyone from amongst the masses who unanimously pretentiously bury their heads in the sand like ostriches refusing to acknowledge blatant consciousness changes or express any public curiosity as to why they are happening be responsible for the consciousness changes both recently and after 1977?
How can people who cannot see that they and everybody are constantly stretching their syllables, changing speed and loudness when these are the only roots of the stress, restlessness and distraction that torment them be responsible for the consciousness change in recent years that make it possible (where it wasn’t before) to permanently escape stress, restlessness and distraction, as the Buddha said is possible?
How can people who are all behaving with their own different brands of constant stretching, changes in speed and loudness even when it is possible to stop doing so today, even when I have done so, even when they have been personally demonstrated by me how they do so, be responsible for triggering the recent consciousness change that permits a previously unthinkable permanent effortless escape from stress, restlessness and distraction by stopping so? In the past and even today, people were only controlling and suppressing the stress and restlessness they were constantly churning up for themselves and others but now, by stopping stretching syllables, changing speed and loudness, it is possible to permanently exit stress and restlessness. Rather than being pioneers they are all behaving according to herd instinct to maintain the status quo and it is unlikely if not impossible than someone amongst them could be responsible for an unprecedented previously unthinkable consciousness change and instead they are only aping, changing because they are swept along by changes happening to everyone that they cannot understand.
I know that constant stretching of syllables, changes in speed and loudness is the only cause of stress, restlessness and distraction because by finally putting an end to all stretching of syllables, all changes in speed and loudness I have experienced an effortless and incomparable release from stress, restlessness and distraction. Even though it is possible to exit stress and restlessness now where it was unthinkable in the past, people everywhere, even those who think they are intelligent and good continue to stretch their syllables, change speed and loudness even after I have personally demonstrated to them they often get crossed, what more that they should spontaneously come to a realization themselves (that they are constantly stretching their syllables, changing speed and loudness) and embark on a persistent course of action necessary to put an end to stress, restlessness and distraction that is possible today?
The Buddha: Just as the ocean has a gradual shelf, a gradual slope, a gradual inclination, with a sudden drop-off only after a long stretch, in the same way this Doctrine and Discipline has a gradual training, a gradual performance, a gradual progression, with a penetration to gnosis (and therefore joyful release from suffering) only after a long stretch.
The consciousness change I experienced in recent years was the result of a revolutionary change in all my activities (speech, behavior, thinking and perceptions) that I instituted without imitating anyone and it did not come about overnight but as the Buddha said above, there is an extended period of steadfast applying myself whilst experiencing scant rewards during which time I could easily have faltered or given up but I refused to give in to suffering and kept applying myself until unexpectedly, unthinkingly a permanent consciousness change occurred in me in which I became effortlessly free from sadness, free from stress, restlessness and distraction. In other words, the recent previously unthinkable incomparable consciousness change did not come about instantly so easily but it yielded only after sustained right effort and it is therefore no accident or trifling achieving that I brought it to completion.
I was definitely the trigger of the previously unthinkable suffering alleviating consciousness change that occurred by contagion after 1977 that nobody throughout the ages including the present has done so even when it should be possible for them to do so.
Unless multiple triggers are postulated, I was again the trigger of consciousness changes that occurred recently at about the turn of the millennium that is separate from that which occurred after 1977 because I set up myself much earlier in 1997 when no consciousness changes were visible in anyone to change myself in an unique way that was not influenced by anyone or copying anyone. I was independently instituting changes like not smiling without being glum, not saying or doing things to please or impress others like others do that led to stopping stretching syllables and then changing speed and loudness. If there can only be one source of contagion then because my behavior was unique and I did not copy anyone, I must be the trigger again. And reflecting on the clueless recalcitrant nature of the masses including intellectual ones and those who think they are good, even when it is possible to stop persecuting themselves and others with stress, restlessness and distraction by stopping stretching syllables, changing speed and loudness, everyone no one else has done so but even those who think they are good and intelligent continue to stretch syllables, change speed and loudness constantly even after they have been demonstrated by me how they do so.
EVEN WHEN IT IS POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT THE AGES AND TODAY FOR ANYONE TO TRIGGER CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGES, I HAVE TRIGGERED CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGES THAT DID NOT COME BY INSTANTLY BUT NEEDED SUSTAINED APPLICATION WITH LITTLE FRUITS INITIALLY NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. IT IS PREVIOUSLY UNTHINKABLE THAT A PERMANENT AND EFFORTLESS ESCAPE FROM STRESS, RESTLESSNESS AND DISTRACTION IS POSSIBLE AND I HAVE SAID WHERE NO MAN HAS SAID BEFORE OR TODAY THAT THE ONLY ESCAPE FROM STRESS, RESTLESSNESS AND DISTRACTION IS TO PAY SUSTAINED ATTENTION AND MAKE SUSTAINED EFFORT TO STOP STRETCHING YOUR SYLLABLES, STOP CHANGING SPEED AND LOUDNESS WHEN SPEAKING.
IT CANNOT BE FLUKE THAT I HAVE SAID CONSISTENTLY SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS THAT ARE UNIQUELY INSIGHTFUL THAT NO MAN TODAY OR THROUGHOUT THE AGES HAS SAID. CONDITIONS ARE EQUAL TODAY SO HOW COME NO ONE IS SAYING THE THINGS I AM SAYING COHERENTLY?
EVEN IF I WANTED TO, I WAS UNABLE UNTIL RECENTLY TO MAKE SATISFACTORY SENSE OF THE BUDDHA’S DEPENDENT CO-ARISING, HOW CONSCIOUSNESS IS SEPARATE AND COMES FROM FABRICATIONS, HOW SENSE OBJECTS COME BEFORE SENSORY MEDIA. REFLECTING THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECENT CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGE, REFLECTING THAT MY DISCERNMENT OR ABILITY TO SEE THINGS AS THEY TRULY ARE HAVE BECOME MORE EFFORTLESS FOCUSED, I CAN NOW OFFER AN ELUCIDATION OF THE BUDDHA’S DEPENDENT CO ARISING WHERE NO MAN HAS EVER DONE SO AND I COULD NOT EVEN IF I WANTED IN THE PAST.
NO ORDINARY MAN INCLUDING THOSE WHO THINK THEY ARE VERY INTELLIGENT OR GOOD CAN OR WILL SAY ANY OF THE MANY THINGS I HAVE SAID (AND NONE HAVE DONE SO, SO FAR) BECAUSE SUCH THINGS NEVER OCCUR IN THEIR MINDS, THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN SUCH THINGS BUT ARE INTERESTED IN THINGS THAT ARE INIMICAL TO SUCH THOUGHTS AND THE SAME SELF SERVING, SELF PRESERVING HERD INSTINCT AND ACCEPTANCE OF THEIR LOTS HERE THAT MAKES IT NOT POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO SAY THE THINGS I SAY ALSO MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO BE ABLE OF TRIGGERING ON THEIR OWN THE CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGES THAT I HAVE DONE. HOWEVER INTELLIGENT, THEY ARE MERELY SUPERIOR ROBOTS MARCHING IN TIME AND STEP WITH THE REST. AND BEING RESENTFUL PEOPLE WHO THINK TOO HIGHLY OF THEMSELVES, THEY DOWNPLAY MY ACHIEVEMENTS AS NO BIG DEAL AND COUNTER ACCUSE ME OF MAKING TOO MUCH OF WHAT I HAVE SAID & DONE. THIS MAY BE SO BUT IF THERE IS NO OTHER ESCAPE FROM STRESS, RESTLESSNESS AND DISTRACTION APART FROM WHAT I HAVE SAID AND DONE THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE IN THE PAST, THEN YOU WOULD HAVE SPURNT A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO ESCAPE FROM RELENTLESS MEANINGLESS MADDENING SUFFERING TO EVERLASTING BLISS.
All Contacts With Force Is Painful & Lasting:
All contacts with force, be it physical (slap) or mental (shouting), direct (slap) or indirect (speech or movement that have added forceful stretching, changes in speed and loudness) are painful (never pleasurable) and lingers so that if the rate of creation of pain (stress) is greater than its dissipation, that being is permanently detained in stress.
Therefore the wise person will avoid or minimize contact with force whether it is generated by others or himself, will avoid exposing his mind to mental or physical force that always causes pain, always warps or conditions the mind to become submissive mules like a domesticated animal, will inevitably kill him either through cumulative degradation or acutely through acts of rage or insanity.
Proud To Be A Superior Robot:
Intelligence is nothing more than superior robotics in terms of memorizing and retrieving in any particular field of activity (perceiving, thinking, vocalization and motion) that does require the intelligent person to see things clearly as they are. Hence, if you are proud to be a superior robot then you should be proud of your intelligence. If you are not proud to be a superior robot you should not be proud or make much of your intelligence.
If you perceive that there is more to intelligence that mere superior memorizing and retrieving, if you think your intellectual intelligence is superior to the athlete’s bodily intelligence, you may have mad perception, perceiving that there is more to intelligence than there actually is and headed for future uncontrollable mad perception or mad doubt when you feel there is something you are missing when there is nothing.
Michael Schumacher the F1 champion for a record number of times will be nowhere without his memory and superior retrieving from his memory. If he had never set foot on a racing track before, never familiarized himself both physically and virtually with video games simulating the tracks, if he did not do hard work to keep fit and his skills sharp, he will be nowhere.
Take away his memory and retrieval from his Einstein and there will be no way Einstein can discover relativity.
NO ORDINARY BEING:
THE BUDDHA WAS NO ORDINARY MAN, HE WAS NOT EVEN AN ORDINARY BEING FROM HEAVEN BUT HE WAS THE PENULTIMATE BEING FROM HEAVEN DESTINED TO BE BORN HERE ON EARTH TO BECOME ON ENLIGHTENMENT THE ULTIMATE BEING (NO HIGHER BEING IS POSSIBLE) IN THIS HIS LAST EXISTENCE TO TEACH THOSE WHO WILL LISTEN AND ARE CAPABLE OF UNDERSTANDING THE WAY OUT OF SUFFERING RIGHT TO THE END, THE CESSATION OF ALL BEING. ALL BEINGS IN EXISTENCE HAVE TIES, THE BUDDHA SAID HE HAS SEVERED ALL TIES & HE IS TRULY (NOT ACTING) NO LONGER WITH ANY DESIRE. NOTHING IN THE WORLDS OF EXISTENCE CAN PERTURB HIM.
IF YOU THINK THE BUDDHA’S MIND IS SIMILAR TO YOURS, FORCEFUL, FICKLE AND JUMPING FROM TOPIC TO TOPIC, UNABLE TO STOP THINKING EVEN IF YOU WANTED, YOU ARE A FOOL AND HAVE WRONG VIEW THAT IS NOT WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES BUT EVEN LEADS TO HELL OR THE ANIMAL WOMB.
IF ANYONE SHOULD FOOLISHLY ASK WHY IF THE BUDDHA IS SO GREAT HE SHOULD BE BORN A MAN HE SHOULD BE ANSWERED BY JESUS WHO SAID THAT WHOEVER WILL BE GREATEST AMONGST YOU SHALL BE THE SERVANT TO THE REST. THE BUDDHA WAS BORN A HUMAN HERE BECAUSE HUMANS WHO HAVE NO ACCESS TO HEAVEN NEED HIS TEACHING MORE THAN HEAVENLY BEINGS, WHO CAN ACCESS HIM HERE AND HE CAN ACCESS HEAVEN FROM HERE.
Miracles Performed By The Buddha:
At that time one day the Jañilas, who wished to attend on their sacred fires, could not succeed in splitting fire-wood. Now these Jañilas thought: `Doubtless this is the magical power and the high faculty of the Great Samaõa that we cannot succeed in splitting fire-wood.' Then the Blessed One said to the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa: `Shall the fire-wood be split, Kassapa?'
`Let it be split, Great Samaõa.
Then in a moment the five hundred pieces of fire-wood (67) were split. And the Jañila Uruvelà [\q 130/] Kassapa thought: `Truly the Great Samaõa possesses high magical powers and great faculties, since even the fire-wood splits itself (at his command). He is not, however, holy like me.'
Despite the performance of many miracles by the Buddha, including walking on water and in the air, Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa still clung to the deluded belief the Buddha was a great magician but not holy like him. It took reprimand by the Buddha that he himself was not a holy man to shake Janila Uruvela out of his delusion:
At that time a great rain fell out of season; and a great inundation arose. The place where the Blessed One lived was covered with water. Then [\q 131/] the Blessed One thought: `What if I were to cause the water to recede round about, and if I were to walk up and down in the midst of the water on a dust-covered spot.' And the Blessed One caused the water to recede round about, and He walked up and down in the midst of the water on a dust-covered spot.
And the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa, who was afraid that the water might have carried away the Great Samaõa, went with a boat together with many Jañilas to the place where the Blessed One lived. Then the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa saw the Blessed One, who had caused the water to recede round about, walking up and down in the midst of the water on a dust-covered spot. Seeing Him, he said to the Blessed One: `Are you there, Great Samaõa?'
`Here I am, Kassapa,' replied the Blessed One and He rose in the air and stationed Himself in the boat.
And the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa thought: `Truly the Great Samaõa possesses high magical powers and great faculties, since the water does not carry him away. He is not, however, holy like me.'
17. Then the Blessed One thought: `This foolish man will still for a long time think thus: "Truly the Great Samaõa possesses high magical powers and great faculties; he is not, however, holy like me." What if I were to move the mind of this Jañila (in order to show him my superiority).'
And the Blessed One said to the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa: `You are not holy (arahat), Kassapa, nor have you entered the path of arahatship, nor do you walk in such a practice as will lead you to arahatship, or to entering the path of arahatship.' [\q 132/]
Then the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa prostrated himself, inclining his head to the feet of the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: `Lord, let me receive the pabbajjà and upasampadà ordinations from the Blessed One.'
18. (Buddha replied): `You, Kassapa, are chief, leader, foremost, first, and highest of five hundred Jañilas; go first and inform them of your intention, and let them do what they think fit.'
Then the Jañila Uruvelà Kassapa went to those Jañilas; having gone to them, he said to those Jañilas: `I wish, Sirs, to lead a religious life under the direction of the Great Samaõa; you may do, Sirs, what you think fit.'
(The Jañilas replied): `We have conceived, Sir, an affection for the Great Samaõa long since; if you will lead, Sir, a religious life under the Great Samaõa's direction, we will all lead a religious life under the Great Samaõa's direction.'
19. Then the Jañilas flung their hair (70), their braids, their provisions (71), and the things for the agnihotra sacrifice into the river, and went to the place where the Blessed One was; having approached Him and prostrated themselves before Him, inclining their heads to the feet of the Blessed One, they said to the Blessed One: `Lord, let us receive the pabbajjà and upasampadà ordinations from the Blessed One.' [\q 133/]
`Come, O bhikkhus,' said the Blessed One, `Well taught is the Doctrine; lead a holy life for the sake of the complete extinction of suffering.' (What the Buddha says implies that suffering is not blameless but the result of sin to which a truly holy life is the antidote)

Dahara Sutta: Young
King Pasenadi Kosala asked the Blessed One: "Now then, does Master Gotama claim, 'I have awakened to the unexcelled right self-awakening'?"
"If, great king, one speaking rightly could say, 'He has awakened to the unexcelled right self-awakening,' one could rightly say that of me."
"But Master Gotama, those priests & contemplatives each with his community, well-regarded: even they, when I asked them, didn't make that claim. So who is Master Gotama to do so when he is still young & newly gone-forth?"
(Just because all the priests & contemplatives in the past never claimed so is not reason not to claim so and a person who is young cannot claim to have awakened to the unexcelled right self-awakening. Just because no one in the past could not cause the consciousness state of the world to change is not reason that it cannot and did not happen. The wise person does not go by presumptions but assess the situation as it arises according to its merits. JUST BECAUSE IT IS UNPRECEDENTED DOES NOT MEAN A PRECEDENT CANNOT BE SET.)
"There are these four things, great king, that shouldn't be disparaged for being young. A noble warrior, a snake...A fire...And a monk shouldn't be despised & disparaged for being young. "

You shouldn't look down on
-- for being young --
a noble warrior of consummate birth,
a high-born prince of great status.
A person shouldn't disparage him.
For it's possiblethat this lord of human beings,
this noble warrior, will gain the throne and,
angered at that disparagement,
come down harshly with his royal might.
So, guarding your life, avoid him.
You shouldn't look down on
-- for being young --
a serpent you meet in village or wilderness:
A person shouldn't disparage it.
As that potent snake slithers alongwith vibrant colors,
it may someday burn the fool.
So, guarding your life, avoid it.
You shouldn't look down on
-- for being young --
a blaze that feeds on many things,
a flame with its blackened trail:
A person shouldn't disparage it.
For if it gains sustenance,
becoming a great mass of flame,
it may someday burn the fool,
So, guarding your life, avoid it.
When a fire burns down a forest
-- that flame with its blackened trail --
the shoots there take birth once more
with the passage of days & nights.
But if a monk, his virtue consummate,
burns you with his potency,
you won't acquire sons or cattlenor will your heirs enjoy wealth.
They become barren, heir-less,like palm tree stumps.
So a person who's wise,
out of regard for his own good,
should always show due respectfor a serpent, a fire,
a noble warrior with high status,
& a monk, his virtue consummate.
The Only Way To Become Discerning:
Great virtue is the mandatory foundation to great concentration which is the mandatory foundation to great wisdom or discernment. Because great scientists and philosophers do not have great virtue, they cannot have great wisdom and if you think they have great wisdom, you may have wrong view that according to the Buddha leads to hell or the animal womb.

The Buddha: "Such and such is virtue; concentration; and wisdom. Great becomes the fruit, great is the gain of concentration when fully developed by virtuous conduct; great becomes the fruit & gain of wisdom when it is fully developed by concentration. Utterly freed from lust, becoming, and ignorance is the mind that is fully developed in wisdom."

What the Buddha is saying above is that virtue, concentration and wisdom are not subjective, not negotiable or wishy washy but they can be clearly defined and are linked to each other.
According to what the Buddha says above you cannot become discerning (have great wisdom) without developing great concentration (passive, force free noble unification of the mind). You cannot develop great concentration without first developing great virtue.
Great virtue is essentially good fabrication or activities of the mind and it is a requisite for good concentration, a condition of the consciousness that is a requisite for seeing things clearly.
Therefore it is impossible for anyone who has not great virtue to have great concentration and thence wisdom or discernment, seeing things clearly as they are.
Virtue is good conduct in speech, behavior, thought and perception and good conduct is conduct that does harm self and others, does not create stress, restlessness and distraction in self and others and only conduct that is without style, without added force, forceful stretching, unnecessary changes in speed and strength of force is virtuous. Virtuous conduct by not applying force on the mind permits it to become effortlessly concentrated and a concentrated mind is focused, sees things clearly as they are, not as you forcefully, defiantly want them to be.
Unless you have great virtue you cannot have great concentration of the mind, unless you have great concentration, you cannot have great wisdom or discernment. Intelligence is not virtuous but selfish motivated for success in the world and therefore just because you are very intelligent does not mean you are very discerning or wise.
Because there is no great virtue as visible in the conduct of ordinary people including those who are intelligent, they are all undiscerning which is why they all cannot see as things are that there is constant stretching of syllables, constant changes in speed and loudness that lead unfailingly to stress, restlessness and distraction.
THEREFORE BY IMPLICATION, ACCORDING TO THE BUDDHA, GREAT WISDOM OR DISCERMENT IS NOT A PRODUCT OF GREAT INTELLIGENCE, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH INTELLIGENCE BUT GREAT WISDOM IS A PRODUCT OF GREAT VIRTUE (ESSENTIALLY FABRICATING WITH MINIMAL CONSTANT FORCE) THAT LEADS TO GREAT CONCENTRATION OR FOCUSING OF THE CONSCIOUSNESS THAT IS ESSENTIAL TO SEEING THINGS CLEARLY AS THEY ARE OR GREAT WISDOM.
IF GREAT WISDOM OR SEEING THINGS CLEARLY DEPENDS ON GREAT INTELLIGENCE THEN THE BUDDHA SHOULD SAY GREAT BECOMES THE FRUIT AND GAIN OF WISDOM WHEN IT IS FULLY DEVELOPED BY GREAT INTELLIGENCE (OR SUPERIOR MEMORIZING AND RETRIEVING).
All sights and sounds are not objects but carriers of force:
It is not just the speech and singing of beings (including animals) that are never pure sound objects for contact by the consciousness but they are carriers for contact with force, but every sound that humans and animals make are not sound objects but sound as carriers of force impacting on the perceiver’s consciousness.
Every squeak as the person shifts on his chair and the sounds he makes unlocking a lock are never attended by minimal constant force but reflecting the nature of the source of the sound or noise, attended by excessive force, acceleration of force strength and speed that can be experienced as contact with force by all listeners, generates stress, restlessness and distraction in them.
All postures ordinary people assume be they standing, sitting or lying down are provocative, are visual carriers of excessive force that are experienced as contact with force that generates stress, restlessness and distraction.
All motions of ordinary people are never visual contact with moving objects but visual contact with objects that are carriers of excessive force that is constantly changing in strength and speed that impact on the observer’s consciousness as emotion, stress, restlessness and distraction.
ALL CONTACT WITH FORCE IS PAINFUL THAT LINGERS AND YOU HAVE TO BE A MASOCHISTIC TO CONSTANTLY UNNECESSARILY SUBJECT YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS TO FORCE BY FABRICATING IN A FORCEFUL WAY WITH CONSTANT UNNECESSARY FORCEFUL CHANGES IN SPEED AND STRENGTH OF FORCE.
