The Buddha was enlightened at night not daytime. He discovered three truths on each watch of the night.
On the first watch of the night that maybe between 6pm and 9pm, when he achieved no fabricating or using memory he recollected all his past lives.
On the second watch of the night he saw the births and deaths of other beings, how they are born and die to suffering or happiness depending on the good or bad of their deeds. A person's suffering and happiness, good or bad luck, ugly or beauty is no accident but predicated on his karma or debt and merit.
On the third watch of the night he saw the truth about the cause of suffering, births and deaths of beings. Ultimately it is the ignorant use of memory or fabricating that is the cause of consciousness that leads to becoming that leads to birth, degeneration, suffering and death. It's the total end of fabricating or using memory that leads to the extinction of all becoming and the being reaches the deathless destination, nirvana where there's no falling away. There's falling away from heaven but no falling away from nirvana.
The second truth the Buddha discovered on the night of his enlightenment: Those enlightened like the Buddha are able to see the passing away and birth of other beings and this is what the Buddha tells you he saw:
"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of
defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of the passing away & reappearance of beings. I saw -- by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human -- beings passing away & re-appearing, and I discerned how they are inferior & superior, beautiful & ugly, fortunate & unfortunate in accordance with their kamma: 'These beings -- who were endowed with bad conduct of body, speech & mind, who reviled noble ones, held wrong views and undertook
actions under the influence of wrong views -- with the break-up of the body, after death, have re-appeared in the plane of deprivation, the bad destination, the lower realms, in hell. But these beings -- who were endowed with good conduct of body, speech, & mind, who did not revile noble ones, who held right views and undertook actions under the influence of right views -- with the break-up of the body, after death, have re-appeared in the good destinations, in the heavenly world.' Thus -- by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human -- I saw beings passing away
& re-appearing, and I discerned how they are inferior & superior, beautiful & ugly, fortunate & unfortunate in accordance with their kamma.

Ordinary people must suffer memory loss of some severity and debility because they are constantly using their memory, constantly talking about memory subjects and pursuing memory subjects not realising that their memory can and will fail with disastrous results for which they are entirely to blame. When their memory fail they cannot even perform simple surgery they used to do so well automatically and they cannot even recognise loved ones and wear clothes.

According to science in the beginning there was nothing, no time, space and matter. Memory & emotions are two products of the brain:
Nerve cells or neurons are the stars of the brain. Neurons receive many connections from other neurons and they transmit electrical impulses to another neuron through an insulated axon.
There are two major purposes of the electrical circuits of the brain, it's to store and replay memory and store and release electrical charges that results in emotions.
Certain neurons are able to generate, store and release positive and negative charges in a gradual or massive fashion that results in emotions.
If positive and negative ions are released by opposite electrodes in a reaction area these opposite charges attract and current flow and this is experienced as like. If both electrodes release positive or negative ions they repel each other and this experienced as dislike.
Depending on how and what charges are released explosively or gradually, the emotional person experiences like, dislike, sadness, hurt, confusion or fear.
Such release of electrical charges triggered by events is a wrong, dangerous and meaningless response to events devoid of understanding.
Even if you like something or somebody it's just a stirring of mental force that is work and suffering, wears down your emotional circuits.

If you want to leave the earth you must have sufficient speed to overcome earth's gravity or force of its mass then you will orbit the earth, if you have even greater velocity you will escape earth orbit to go into orbit around the sun, you cannot fall straight into the sun but if your velocity is insufficient you will fall in a spiral that may take even countless orbits before you crash into the sun. You cannot go straight towards the sun, this is impossible in this world.

How and why do stars die?
The Buddha said whatever is an arising thing is a vanishing thing, whatever is not an arising thing (nirvana) is not a vanishing thing.
A star is born and like all things born it must die, it's only a matter of how and why.
A star dies when it has exhausted its fuel, the fusion of hydrogen producing expanding radiation that prevents gravitational collapse of its huge mass. If the star is not massive like the sun it will collapse to a small rapidly spinning dark neutron star perhaps about the size of the earth compared to its huge present size. If it's a giant star it will collapse into a black hole with gravity so strong it sucks in everything caught by its gravity and its gravity is so strong not even light can escape so it's a black hole.
When a star has exhausted its hydrogen it cannot counter the intense gravity crushing it inwardly, initially it expands into a red giant and the sun may grow in size so much the earth 93 million miles away would be engulfed by the sun. Later this unstable red giant explodes scattering all the heavy elements that include oxygen, carbon, silica, gold and uranium into space to be incorporated into planets of future generations of stars. Our sun is a second or third generation star.
When the star explodes what remains at the core is a fast spinning very small neutron star but with very massive stars the remaining core is huge with gravity so strong it sucks in everything nearby falling into its grasp and its gravity is so strong not even light can escape and so it's a black hole, you cannot see what is inside it.
The sun will die when it has exhausted its hydrogen fuel to convert to helium allowing gravity to collapse it unopposed into a spinning neutron star.
The earth will die when the uranium in its core is exhausted so the convection hot iron plumes will no longer drive the movement of tectonic plates and the earth will shrink from cooling without nuclear fire.
Why spinning neutron star? Maybe neutrons have no charge and so can be compressed much more than protons and electrons so when star is dying the core is made of neutrons with protons and electrons outside so the explosion of the dying star blows off external protons, electrons and heavy elements leaving a fast spinning dark neutron core.
An atom is 99.99% empty and according to science high speed subatomic particles from the sun routinely go through the earth without hitting anything.
An atom essentially consists of neutrons and positive charged protons in the centre with much smaller negative charged electrons revolving around the nucleus.
And so in the intense gravity at the centre of a dying star the electrons may be crushed to fuse with protons to become neutrons so the core of the dying star is pure neutrons tightly packed together because protons and electrons cannot exist, they are squeezed so closely they merge to become neutrons.
The Buddha said this world is an illusion, like a mass of foam floating down the Ganges River and this may be an accurate description of matter.

There are things that can be captured like humans or animals but you cannot capture hope. This is never harmless but all those receptive including the perpetrator is training himself and others in false perception that ends in mad perception that is never the way to heaven.

The fusion of two hydrogen atoms under intense gravitational pressure to produce helium releasing tremendous amounts of energy in the sun and hydrogen bombs is actually the fusion of two deuterium isotopes of hydrogen which is much rarer, there's one deuterium isotope for every 6400 hydrogen atoms in the earth's oceans. Hydrogen has three isotopes, the common hydrogen with a single proton in the nucleus, deuterium or heavy water with one proton and one neutron and tritium with two neutrons and a proton.
Before you can fuse two hydrogen atoms to form helium you need to prepare the hydrogen atoms beforehand by attaching a neutron because protons are positively charged and strongly repulsive and will not fuse to form helium without the presence of neutrons to act as shields or insulation before they will fuse.
THE THERMONUCLEAR REACTION IN THE SUN IS NOT BETWEEN HYDROGEN ATOMS BUT BETWEEN TWO RARER DEUTERIUM ISOTOPE OF HYDROGEN WITH A NEUTRON IN THE NUCLEUS ACTING AS A SHIELD BETWEEN THE STRONG REPULSION OF PROTONS SO THAT THEY MAY OVERCOME THE STRONG REPULSION OF TWO PROTONS TO FUSE TO FORM HELIUM WITH TWO PROTONS AND TWO NEUTRONS IN THE PROCESS RELEASING TREMENDOUS ENERGY AS HEAT AND LIGHT.
Oxygen has eight protons and eight neutrons in its nucleus and the neutrons may act as a buffer or shield in order for the eight repulsive protons to coexist in close proximity in an oxygen nucleus. Without neutrons protons may never combine to form all the big atoms.
Uranium has 92 protons and 143 or 145 neutrons, it's very big and unstable needing more neutrons to bind together. Uranium 235 is unstable and liable to break into two parts releasing 3 neutrons and considerable energy when its nucleus is hit by a neutron. If there's a critical or big enough mass of uranium 235 then a chain reaction can be sustained in which each uranium 235 hit by a neutron breaks into two smaller parts releasing much energy plus three neutrons that go one to hit nearby uranium 235 atoms causing further continuous splits resulting in a massive nuclear fission not fusion explosion.
The energy release of uranium fission is not as great as the fusion of two deuterium isotopes.
PROTONS ARE STRONGLY REPULSIVE SO TO COEXIST IN THE ATOMIC NUCLEUS SO THAT THEY MAY FORM BIGGER ATOMS AS LARGE AS URANIUM WITH 92 PROTONS THEY NEED NEUTRONS TO BUFFER OR SHIELD THEM AND IN URANIUM THERE ARE 143 NEUTRONS NEEDED TO KEEP THE UNWEILDY MASS TOGETHER. BEFORE HYDROGEN ATOMS CAN FUSE TO FORM HELIUM THEY MUST BE PREPARED BEFOREHAND, YOU NEED DEUTERIUM, A HYDROGEN ATOM WITH A NEUTRON ATTACHED BEFORE TWO DEUTERIUM WILL FUSE TO FORM HELIUM RELEASING TREMENDOUS ENERGY.
There are two kinds of bonds between atoms, ionic bonds based on the attraction between positively charged cations and negatively charged anions, such bonds are weak and easily broken. There are covalent bonds based on the sharing of electrons between atoms that are stronger.
Carbon is excellent at forming covalent bonds with other atoms enabling it to form complex large molecules that's the basis of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and DNA that makes life possible, at least from the scientific perspective.
Carbon dioxide is a covalent bond between carbon and oxygen, nitrogen oxide is a molecule of nitrogen and oxygen based on covalent bond between nitrogen and oxygen.
Glucose is C6 H12 O6. Triglyceride is C6 H8 O6.
According to the periodic table there are metals like sodium, potassium, calcium and iron that have a single or two electrons in it outermost shell of revolving electrons that can be easily knocked off and when they are knocked off the atom has a deficit of electrons and becomes positively charged. Anions like chlorine has an outer shell lacking in one or two electrons and they easily accept external electrons to become negatively charged and positively charged sodium attracts negatively charged chloride to become salt or sodium chloride that when dissolved in water freely dissociate into separate sodium and chloride ions ghat migrate to opposite poles in a battery.
Electrons revolve in shells around the nucleus that is composed of protons plus neutrons to separate the repulsive protons. Metals have electrons shells with only one or two electrons in its outermost shell that can be easily lost to become positively charged. Anions like chlorine has an outermost electron shell that lacks one or two electrons to become full and they readily accept electrons to become negatively charged.
Carbon and other atoms can form strong covalent bonds where they share electrons that flow freely from atom to atom bonding the atoms together.
Plants using chlorophyll are able to break the covalent bonds of carbon dioxide using water to produce carbohydrates and oxygen that allows animals to live.
