Why Usurpers May Not Be Possible

Why Usurpers May Not Be Possible:
Is it possible for someone ordinary out of this world arising spontaneously to become the Buddha or Jesus or assume their roles in lieu of them? According to the Buddha, he is the One Who Thus Comes, a divine being of immeasurable merit destined to be born for his last time into this world as the first in this eon to become enlightened and thereafter lead those capable of enlightenment out of this world of ignorance and suffering to make an end forever to suffering and becoming.
Jesus was sent by his Father with a message for this world. It is not possible for someone of this world to accidentally become the Son of man, thereby usurping him.
Similarly, the counselor is a person who will come because Jesus said he will convince the world regarding sin, righteousness and judgment and no Spirit residing only in the minds of Christians can convince the rest of the world, apart from the high improbablity Christians to this day have heard a male voice in their heads convincing them of sin, righteousness and judgment.
If it is possible for an ordinary person, another person other than the counselor himself transforming himself accidentally or by evolution to assume the counselor’s position or speak like him, then what Jesus said would be uncertain, capable of turning out ultimately untrue. If however there is no possibility any other person apart from the counselor himself can assume the role Jesus described, then what Jesus said is NEVER in danger of turning out false.
If there is a possibility of an usurper, another person other than the counselor Jesus referred to assuming that role by chance or by ‘evolution’ of human consciousness, then what Jesus said regarding the counselor would be at risk of turning out false. If there are no possibilities that another person could accidentally or otherwise fulfill or usurp the counselor’s role, then Jesus spoke the truth. Hence it is IMPOSSIBLE for another person other than the counselor to assume that designated role.
It may not be possible for any or another person to spontaneously or accidentally break down his and the same mental shackles that previously held beings in this world in tormenting mandatory acting and for that same person to then again wake up and finally put an end to his own acting and trigger a consciousness change that affects all other beings.
The fact (for one who discerns) that people everywhere including those who believe they are quite good, those who are even at the highest echelons of their religions, those who are professional counselors, those who are scientists or philosophers supposedly dedicated to truth, those who are supposed to heal those who are mentally sick nevertheless continue to act even to this day, even as they counsel emancipation from suffering for others, cannot see how they stress themselves and others by their forceful exaggerated and faked conduct suggests that is highly improbable or impossible that an ordinary person from this world could spontaneously, accidentally stumble on the breaking of mental shackles in his mind and then proceeded to cease acting and define precisely exactly how ordinary people are sinful and stressful. He demonstrates unflatteringly in a rational manner how ordinary people do not indulge occasionally in lies but the manner and what they all say, do, think and perceive are faked or exaggerated.
If it was possible for ordinary people to spontaneously usurp, then one ordinary person may be the first to change his consciousness truggering others to follow suit whilst out of the billions, surely another will then arise who will be the first to stop acting and surely again out of the billions of beings, another or more than a few will come to the realization or work out for themselves how they and everyone act and how that is the root of their sufferings. How come till this day, there is no else in the world who will take the bold step of announcing publicly that they have discovered that everyone in this world is an actor, a serial exaggerator and fake and how this is the infallible taproot of sin and stress, leads inexorably to restlessness, mania, violence and depression?
THROUGHOUT THE HISTORY OF MANKIND AND EVEN TODAY, IS THERE ANYBODY WHO SAID OR WILL SAY THINGS I SAY? IS IT BECAUSE WHAT I SAY IS NONSENSE OR MIGHT IT BE THE TRUTH THAT THE WORLD CANNOT ACCEPT BECAUSE IT NEITHER SEES HIM NOR KNOW HIM? IS IT MERELY A SERIES OF FORTUITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES THAT THE PERSON WHO IN TRUTH CAUSED AN IRREFUTABLE LIBERATING CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGE THAT THEN SWEPT AROUND THE WORLD AFTER 1977 (THAT THE WORLD SEEMS AMNESIC OR AVERSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE, INCURIOUS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED) IS ALSO ARTICULATE, DISCERNING, NOT AN IDIOT, WHO SPEAKS OF THINGS NO MAN HAS EVER SPOKEN ABOUT BEFORE OR DARE SPEAK ABOUT AND WHAT HE SAYS OR SETS EXAMPLE MAY STILL BE CAUSING CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGES SWEEPING AROUND THE WORLD?
CAN YOU NOT SMILE, NOT STRETCH YOUR SYLLABLES, NOT SAY ‘QUICK! QUICK! QUICK!’ BUT JUST A MINDFUL ‘QUICK’? HOW COME THROUGH OUT HISTORY AND EVEN TODAY, WITH CONSCIOUSNESS PARAMETERS NOW PERMIT, PEOPLE STILL KEEP SMILING, STRETCHING THEIR SYLLABLES AND SAY MINDLESSLY, ‘QUICK! QUICK! QUICK!” NOT REALIZING SUCH BEHAVIOR OVER WHICH THEY CAN EXERCISE CHOICE ARE LINKED INFALLIBLY TO THEIR STRESS, RESTLESSNESS, MAD, VIOLENT IMPULSES AND DEPRESSION, HARMS OTHERS NOT BENEFIT THEM AND IS THEREFORE SINFUL? EVEN AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD, PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES GOOD CANNOT RESIST SMILING, STRETCHING THEIR SYLLABLES AND MINDLESSLY SAYING EMPHATICALLY “YA, YA, YA”, WHAT MORE THAT THEY SHOULD SPONTANEOUSLY COME TO AN AWARENESS AND DELINEATE PRECISELY WHAT THEIR PREDICAMENTS ARE.
Why I Think I Am Unique:
As clear as day is distinguishable from night, I am (in my unemotional, impartial perception) today an unmistakably very different, permanently changed person compared to who I was prior to 1977 in terms of being now effortlessly free from stress, restlessness, conflict, silly thoughts, violent impulses and vulnerability to depression together with a concomitant reduction of defilements (lust, greed, anger, ill will, pride, jealousy, envy, presumption).
As clear as day is distinguishable from night, I detected after repeated objective observations that everyone in the world, including animals too have changed in countenance and behavior in the aftermath of the (momentous) conscious change in 1977 and even today, their appearance and behavior indicate ongoing change that is not sequential aging change but an out of the ordinary behavioral and consciousness change.
The person I am today, the effortless, permanent release from mental suffering that I now experience is unthinkable, cannot be countenanced in the consciousness circumstances before 1977 and impossible however one might strive to will himself or control without there having occurred a revolutionary consciousness change. It was as if there was a quantum jump in the consciousness to a different level hitherto unknown to beings then.
Immediately after I had established with confidence that I was not kidding myself, I had truly changed in 1977, I said to myself joyously objectively without conceit that what I have just done or discovered or stumbled upon was unique, marvelous, how come nobody ever discovered it, is there a scientific basis for it? In my enthusiasm, I tried to make others similarly change, not realizing then it was unnecessary because everyone would as a matter of course change by themselves later (although they still stubbornly act till this day, even when non acting is incomparably blissful).
Barely a year after I changed in 1977 it was as if a bottom fell out of me or a ripening fruit finally fell when I became involuntarily calm as if incapable of suffering. It was as if I had woken from a dream, things I previously held as dear no longer applied, emotions that were previously intense became deflated and I now did or said things effortlessly as if walking on air, I did not believe anymore in the things people around me believed whilst at the same time life became very difficult or awkward because it was if people found it difficult, even violently agitating to relate to me. I had wondered then why it had to happen to me; it did not seem to happen to anyone else who all seemed to blend in, what is the difference in me, why couldn’t I be ANONYMOUS like others?
A similar experience in milder form happened to me about 5 years later in Sydney when I again became involuntarily relaxed as if incapable of worries or suffering but it again made relating to others difficult because I no longer shared their delusions, could no longer go along with life as they were and there was awkwardness relating to others and they seem to find it uncomfortable relating to me or find the changed effortless manner I spoke or did things uncomfortable to relate to (they became flustered, though not as much as in 1978). I again wondered why I couldn’t be like others, anonymous. Why do these involuntary stress-free states keep arising in me to make me feel like a pariah hampering social relationships? Am I forever condemned to be ambushed by such states that though pleasant, made interactions with others almost impossible? Why can’t I be like the rest?
If I had stumbled upon a revolutionary consciousness change in 1977 by accident, someone else could have done it, how come nobody else ‘dropped out’ or became totally, involuntarily, emotionlessly calm barely a year after they changed, whereas I did? Whereas I involuntarily came to a blissful effortless state of being incapable of suffering to do or say things seemingly without requiring effort barely one year later (and recurred five years later), as far as I can tell, nobody else experienced a similar end point. This indicates that there may be a fundamental difference in my nature compared with others.
It would be another sheer coincidence that subsequently I was again the first to discover that everyone in this world was not being themselves but they were all falsely acting, I worked out precisely the many ways people acted and how it is linked intimately with their stress, restlessness, violent impulses and depression. I discovered it is possible to exist in an incomparably saner and clearly thinking way by not acting. Why is it that after the consciousness change in 1977 made it possible to stop acting, no one else in this whole wide world including top religious figures, gurus and those who meditate regularly in search of peace came to a spontaneous realization that the manners they conducted themselves in speech and action sinfully and stressfully acted or contrived and to then blissfully put a stop to their acting? How come it has never dawned on any of the many intelligent and religious people in this world not only today but throughout history that they are stressfully, falsely smiling and stretching their syllables all the time and how their insoluble stresses are indelibly linked to their somnolent smiling and stretching of syllables? If throughout long history and even today, people everywhere have always smiled and stretched their syllables (faked), is it possible that now somewhere somehow an ordinary person would arise who would spontaneously put a stop to his smiling and stretched syllables or acting? It may be possible but highly unlikely. Instead, the person who first draws attention to these somnolent stressful activities at the root of insoluble distress may have to be somehow unique in his insightfulness or ability to see the truth. Ordinary people, including those who are supposed to be objective intellectuals are all detained by their strong emotions that they hold dear, are driven by their often camouflaged ill will even malice and therefore cannot see they are acting and put an end to it.
It would be yet another sheer coincidence that the person who first changed the consciousness of the world, who it appears alone experienced a state of being effortlessly incapable of suffering, who decades down the line became the first to have insight into the nature of ubiquitous acting that is at the source of all stress (existence does not have to be stressful but acting is always stressful) of all beings is not only articulate about matters regarding acting but interprets the Buddhist and Christian scriptures in a novel way that seem to have eluded dedicated scholars all these centuries.
In the history of mankind many, including professional scholars have read both the Buddhist and Christian scriptures but is there anybody who has interpreted what Jesus and the Buddha said the way I have done?
I have pointed out that Jesus said let your yes be yes only, anything more comes from evil, not good and demonstrated how people can never let their yes be yes only but they always (helplessly, forcefully) say or do more. Jesus spoke of eternal habitations, suggesting there is reincarnation, the close of the Age and the Age to come that corresponds well with what the Buddha said of many eons of cosmic expansions and contractions. I have pointed out that the Buddha said there is the Great Brahma, the All Powerful One, Father of all that is and He has two sons which may correspond to the Christian Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amongst many things I have pointed out that have escaped the attention of scholars barking up the wrong tree of exaltation is how the Buddha never speaks whilst he eats, he never eats whilst he speaks and although so many studious scholars scrutinizing scriptures for kernels of truth failed to notice (not by accident but because they are pretentious, they see the unimportant in the important), it may be a crucial truth: you cannot mindfully perform more than one task at one time but you will then be stressfully acting. People everywhere eat and talk whilst they watch TV and that is the root to their insoluble stress. As simple as it may be, it may be impossible for (greedy) ordinary people to do one thing at a time. They talk whilst they walk; stockbrokers talk into two or more phones whilst they scan monitors and gesticulate to place orders.
Whenever the Buddha is invited to a meal, he acquiesces by remaining silent, something impossible for an ordinary person to do because being nice guys, they would be moved to smile and say ‘thank you’. The Buddha spoke of the three lower fetters (self identity views, uncertainty & doubting, faith in rites and precepts) that led to states of woe. Is there any professional scholar who has elucidated what he meant and how ordinary people are afflicted by them? I have demonstrated how the seven factors of awakening (mindfulness, analysis of qualities, persistence, rapture, serenity, concentration and equanimity) are not idle theories but they must apply whenever a person transforms himself from suffering ignorance (eg stretching syllables, smiling) to blissful awakening (not stretching, not smiling)
How come no doctor or psychiatrist has clearly defined what emotions are and how they are different from passive feelings? They all tell you it is good to be emotional when all emotions are forceful, harmful and pummel the mind leading to mind failure and madness later.
If it was mere coincidence, then considering the billions who exist, there should statistically have been one person who will perhaps cause the initial consciousness change, another or many others who will then spontaneously stop their evil and stressful acting on their own and somebody else will then be the first to enunciate what acting is all about and how it is intimately linked to stress leading to restlessness, madness and depression, yet others who will interpret what Jesus and the Buddha said in a revolutionary or unique way that is rational.
Yet it appears nobody else in this whole wide world of billions who is publicly visible has stopped his stressful, harmful acting, even those who profess to be quite good, quite intelligent are somnolently still acting, even after they have been repeatedly told what is acting, even when not acting is an incomparably uplifting way to exist. What more that they or those who have never been told what is acting is about should spontaneously change their own consciousness and then come to an awakening they are acting and put a stop to it.
Why is this so? It may be as Jesus said, because the world cannot receive the truth (that they act, so how can they stop acting?), for they neither see truth (that they act) nor knows the truth (that they act). What they call truth are forcefully fabricated niceties that they don’t quite mean to get along or get what they want.

Jesus: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor (like Jesus was a counselor, a person who came), to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you. (Because beings in this world cannot receive truth, neither sees nor knows truth, there is NO chance a being from this world will spontaneously morph to usurp the counselor’s role)
"These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
But when the Counselor comes (he will not come immediately), whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he (a male) will bear witness to me; and you also are witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning.
But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts. Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. (The counselor must bring you advantage. Although men pine for material gains and sensual delights, what greater advantage, short of eternal heavenly life, can there be than a lifting of the previously tormenting dark consciousness shroud and uncertainty?)
And when he comes, he will convince the world concerning sin and righteousness (goodness) and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (If what I say does not convince people of sin, righteousness and judgment, what else said can convince?)
"I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. (Perhaps a consciousness change that the counselor will initiate would be enabling) When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak (He appears to speak alone. If the counselor knows everything, he will not need to hear) and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you (if the church and Christians have glorified Jesus, there would be no need for a counselor to do so, if what the counselor said is identical to the church, he is superfluous). All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you (if the church has taken what is Jesus’ and declared it to you, there would not be need for a counselor).

IT MAY NOT MATTER TO PINPOINT WHO THE COUNSELOR IS, IT MAY OR WILL BE FATAL TO DO SO BECAUSE OF THE MURDEROUS NATURE OF THIS JEALOUS, MALICIOUS WORLD WHERE ONLY A FEW SINNERS WILL SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE AND REFORM THEMSELVES. IF THEY WILL HATE JESUS, THEY WILL FLOG YOU IN THE SYNAGOGUES, THEY WILL DO THE SAME TO THE COUNSELOR, ESPECIALLY IF HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH THEY HATE TO HEAR AND DOES NOT SUFFER LIKE THEM, THEIR POWERS OR HOLD ON PEOPLE ARE UNDER THREAT, THEIR CHICANERY IS EXPOSED. MALICIOUS PEOPLE ARE DRIVEN BY MURDEROUS IMPULSES THEY DO NOT CONTROL. JESUS COULD HAVE SAID MORE TO PINPOINT THE COUNSELOR BUT THE FACT HE DID NOT AND THE PASSAGES WERE SCATTERED AND ONLY IN JOHN’S GOSPEL SUGGEST THE DIVINE INTENTION TO BE NOT SO SPECIFIC, PERHAPS FOR THE COUNSELOR’S PROTECTION.

What Enlightenment Is About:
The Buddha:
"Whatever a monk keeps pursuing with his thinking & pondering, that becomes the inclination of his awareness. If a monk keeps pursuing thinking imbued with renunciation, abandoning thinking imbued with sensuality, his mind is bent by that thinking imbued with renunciation. If a monk keeps pursuing thinking imbued with non-ill will, abandoning thinking imbued with ill will, his mind is bent by that thinking imbued with non-ill will. If a monk keeps pursuing thinking imbued with harmlessness, abandoning thinking imbued with harmfulness, his mind is bent by that thinking imbued with harmlessness. (What the Buddha is saying is that in order to achieve spiritual progress, hence release from suffering, you must persist on pondering about renunciation, non sensuality and harmlessness. The trouble with most people is that they are complacent, distracted by worldly concerns, do not devote themselves to spiritual matters not realizing that as a result they will burn in hell and head for eternal wandering)
"Just as in the last month of the hot season, when all the crops have been gathered into the village (when the monk has washed his hands off the ways of sinful people), a cowherd would look after his cows: While resting under the shade of a tree or out in the open, he simply keeps himself mindful of 'those cows.' In the same way, I simply kept myself mindful of 'those mental qualities (renunciation, non sensuality and harmlessness).'
"Unflagging persistence was aroused in me and unmuddled mindfulness established. My body was calm & unaroused, my mind concentrated & single. Quite withdrawn from sensuality, withdrawn from unskillful mental qualities, I entered & remained in the first jhana: rapture & pleasure born from withdrawal, accompanied by directed thought & evaluation (there is still thinking). With the stilling of directed thought & evaluation, I entered & remained in the second jhana: rapture & pleasure born of composure, unification of awareness free from directed thought & evaluation -- internal assurance. With the fading of rapture I remained in equanimity, mindful & alert, and physically sensitive of pleasure. I entered & remained in the third jhana, of which the Noble Ones declare, 'Equanimous & mindful, he has a pleasurable abiding.' With the abandoning of pleasure & pain -- as with the earlier disappearance of elation & distress -- I entered & remained in the fourth jhana: purity of equanimity & mindfulness, neither pleasure nor pain. (pleasure & pain detains a being in the lower realms; there is a higher realm devoid of pleasure & pain)
"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of recollecting my past lives. I recollected my manifold past lives, i.e., one birth, two...five, ten...fifty, a hundred, a thousand, a hundred thousand, many eons of cosmic contraction, many eons of cosmic expansion, many eons of cosmic contraction & expansion: 'There I had such a name, belonged to such a clan, had such an appearance. Such was my food, such my experience of pleasure & pain, such the end of my life. Passing away from that state, I re-arose there. There too I had such a name, belonged to such a clan, had such an appearance. Such was my food, such my experience of pleasure & pain, such the end of my life. Passing away from that state, I re-arose here.' Thus I remembered my manifold past lives in their modes & details.
"This was the first knowledge I attained in the first watch of the night. Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose -- as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute.
"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of the passing away & reappearance of beings. I saw -- by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human -- beings passing away & re-appearing, and I discerned how they are inferior & superior, beautiful & ugly, fortunate & unfortunate in accordance with their kamma: 'These beings -- who were endowed with bad conduct of body, speech & mind, who reviled the Noble Ones, held wrong views and undertook actions under the influence of wrong views -- with the break-up of the body, after death, have re-appeared in the plane of deprivation, the bad destination, the lower realms, in hell. But these beings -- who were endowed with good conduct of body, speech, & mind, who did not revile the Noble Ones, who held right views and undertook actions under the influence of right views -- with the break-up of the body, after death, have re-appeared in the good destinations, in the heavenly world.' Thus -- by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human -- I saw beings passing away & re-appearing, and I discerned how they are inferior & superior, beautiful & ugly, fortunate & unfortunate in accordance with their kamma.
"This was the second knowledge I attained in the second watch of the night. Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose -- as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute.
"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of the ending of the mental fermentations. I discerned, as it was actually present, that 'This is stress...This is the origination of stress...This is the cessation of stress...This is the way leading to the cessation of stress...These are fermentations...This is the origination of fermentations...This is the cessation of fermentations...This is the way leading to the cessation of fermentations.' My heart, thus knowing, thus seeing, was released from the fermentation of sensuality, released from the fermentation of becoming, released from the fermentation of ignorance. With release, there was the knowledge, 'Released.' I discerned that 'Birth is ended, the holy life fulfilled, the task done. There is nothing further for this world.'
"This was the third knowledge I attained in the third watch of the night. Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose -- as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute.
"If he wants, he wields manifold supranormal powers. Having been one he becomes many; having been many he becomes one. He appears. He vanishes. He goes unimpeded through walls, ramparts, and mountains as if through space. He dives in and out of the earth as if it were water. He walks on water without sinking as if it were dry land. Sitting crosslegged he flies through the air like a winged bird. With his hand he touches and strokes even the sun and moon, so mighty and powerful. He exercises influence with his body even as far as the Brahma worlds (heaven). He can witness this for himself whenever there is an opening. (like the internet, when the traffic is not heavy, you can surf)
"If he wants, he hears -- by means of the divine ear-element, purified and surpassing the human -- both kinds of sounds: divine and human, whether near or far. He can witness this for himself whenever there is an opening.
"If he wants, he knows the awareness of other beings, other individuals, having encompassed it with his own awareness. He discerns a mind with passion as a mind with passion, and a mind without passion as a mind without passion. He discerns a mind with aversion as a mind with aversion, and a mind without aversion as a mind without aversion. He discerns a mind with delusion as a mind with delusion, and a mind without delusion as a mind without delusion. He discerns a restricted mind as a restricted mind, and a scattered mind as a scattered mind. He discerns an enlarged mind as an enlarged mind, and an unenlarged mind as an unenlarged mind. He discerns an excelled mind [one that is not at the most excellent level] as an excelled mind, and an unexcelled mind as an unexcelled mind. He discerns a concentrated mind as a concentrated mind, and an unconcentrated mind as an unconcentrated mind. He discerns a released mind as a released mind, and an unreleased mind as an unreleased mind. He can witness this for himself whenever there is an opening.
**
"Suppose, monks, that in a forested wilderness there were a large low-lying marsh, in dependence on which there lived a large herd of deer; and a certain man were to appear, not desiring their benefit, not desiring their welfare, not desiring their rest from bondage. He would close off the safe, restful path that led to their rapture, and would open up a false path, set out a male decoy, place a female decoy, and thus the large herd of deer, at a later time, would fall into ruin & disaster. Then suppose that a certain man were to appear to that same large herd of deer, desiring their benefit, desiring their welfare, desiring their rest from bondage. He would open up the safe, restful path that led to their rapture, would close off the false path, take away the male decoy, destroy the female decoy, and thus the large herd of deer, at a later time, would come into growth, increase, & abundance.
"I have given this simile in order to convey a meaning. The meaning is this: 'The large, low-lying marsh' is a term for sensual pleasures. 'The large herd of deer' is a term for beings. 'The man not desiring their benefit, not desiring their welfare, not desiring their rest from bondage' is a term for Mara, the Evil One. 'The false path' is a term for the eightfold wrong path, i.e., wrong view, wrong resolve, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, & wrong concentration. 'The male decoy' is a term for passion & delight. 'The female decoy' is a term for ignorance. 'The man desiring their benefit, desiring their welfare, desiring their rest from bondage' is a term for the Tathagata, the Worthy One, the Rightly Self-awakened One. 'The safe, restful path that led to their rapture' is a term for the noble eightfold path, i.e., right view, right resolve, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, & right concentration.
"So, monks, I have opened up the safe, restful path, closed off the false path, removed the male decoy, destroyed the female. Whatever a teacher should do -- seeking the welfare of his disciples, out of sympathy for them -- that have I done for you. Over there are the roots of trees; over there, empty dwellings. Practice jhana, monks. Don't be heedless. Don't later fall into regret. This is our message to you."
That is what the Blessed One said. Gratified, the monks delighted in the Blessed One's words.
Creating merit for oneself:
The Buddha said a sharing of the dharma or teaching is supreme compared to a sharing of material gift. Hence, if you think what is written is beneficial to you, you can create merit for yourself by sharing it with others you think might benefit instead of keeping it to yourself:
This was said by the Blessed One: "There are these two kinds of gifts: a gift of material things & a gift of the Dhamma. Of the two, this is supreme: a gift of the Dhamma. There are these two kinds of sharing: sharing of material things & sharing of the Dhamma. Of the two, this is supreme: sharing of the Dhamma. There are these two kinds of assistance: assistance with material things & assistance with the Dhamma. Of the two, this is supreme: help with the Dhamma."
